@Ron Attwood invited me to a group flight with the RTW team with a lot of folks including @Bert Pieke and others I can't recall without more coffee this morning (sorry guys...old age you know 🙂 )

Anyway...there was a gaggle of us tooling around in the San Juan islands with the great scenery mod for it.  Don't have too many pics as the landings were quite challenging, but we had a boat-load of fun...and hilarity abounded as you can imagine.

The black dotted line shows you the crazy path my plane flew during this saga. 🙂

I could almost hear The Flight of the Valkyries playing in my head when I saw all the winged warriors all heading out on the quest to slay the evil San Juan island chain! 🤣 

 

@Ron Attwood, here is the moment you all wished someone grabbed a screenshot of.  I could have denied it and you and I would have been the only ones to know...but you can see I'm a transparent guy. 🙂   Note to self....easy on the brakes in a tail dragger. 😆

Thanks for the invite Ron, and to all the guys who put up with my antics....I was always the class clown in school, anything for a laugh, even inverted fly-bys at tree-top level. 😉  Note to self....when inverted...push FORWARD to go up.

There are big advantages in landing like this.. absolutely no degradation on the brakes at all. It does, however, present small problems to personal health standards, and to fairly well accelerated fuselage and tailplane distortion. You could probably add in a considerable dent to ones personal finances as well.

Did not Sir Douglas Bader do something similar to this too.  If it can happen to him, it can happen to anybody LOL

What mishap?  I told you guys in the chat it was really hard to clean the bottom of my Cubby so I flipped her on purpose to get those oil stains off her. 😉 

It was a fun adventure for sure!

That was also another consideration....have you priced brakes on anything that flies?....sheez and I thought Napa charged alot for a brake job!
