Bush flying - what aircraft?

Featured Replies

Very curious as VR Support is coming, I'm ready to plunge into MSFS 2020.... Bush flying is what I'm interested in, what aircraft are available for bush flying?

Standard Edition: Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, Cessna 172 G1000, Cub Crafter X Cub, Zlin Savage Cub

Deluxe Edition: Cessna 172

Premium Deluxe Edition: Zlin Shock Ultra

Take a look at Bush League Legends as they have some excellent freeware bush strips as well as a performance mod to the X Cub. There are a few bush strips available in the MSFS Marketplace within the simulator. MSFS ships with a couple bush trips and there are many more you can download from the community.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Excellent, thank you!  Until helos are introduced, I'll enjoy flying the bush planes.  Any that use a stick versus a yoke?

Thanks!  I'll check that out!

Which version do you have of MSFS? There other versions of planes in the different packages. Like there is the Steam gauge 172, a 152 sport, etc...but I forget which version as I have the Premium Deluxe now? Have fun! Xcub is my favorite plane but might not be yours!

While the Xcub is fabulous, and was my goto bush'r for a while....this one below is the feline's spoken word:

You will get in and out of more places with this gem (the @GotGravel Savage Carbon Cub)...and with the latest update, you can even waterski on those huge tundra tires.  The pic above I was nearly vertical getting out of a shoebox of a place. 🙂

I don't have MSFS 2020 yet, was waiting to get it when VR is available.  I'll get it up and running this weekend.

There's a neat picture book on Amazon of historical bush pilots. But it's old photography, mostly pilots standing in front of their rides. the 'Look Inside' feature shows what to expect on every page...
