FBW A320 stuttering?

Featured Replies

Hello,

So today i did a first attempt to fly the FBW A320 which is obviously a great mod!

But i get a quite annoying stutter every few seconds which is a gamebreaker for me. I am running @30Hz and about every 5 seconds FPS drop to 25-26 like there is something loaded in the background or so...

Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue?

Best regards,

Tom

As a test turn off Multiplayer, Weather and Traffic in data options. If the stutters go away your system probably can't handle the loading of that data simultaneously. Just a wild guess.

I am using the newest mod version, flying take offs and approaches only in large urban areas. I've noticed nothing about FPS drop offs, but neither do I track the numbers actively. I have slight momentary stutters that never last flying approaches down over densely packed urban areas and it never disturbs my final. Now, if it's KLAX? All bets off. That is a horrid area under any circumstances that I have complained to Asobo, so don't use that. But that's my own problematic airspace.

I can confirm that real air traffic and multiplayer can cause issues and on my end CTDs. So turn them off and see if things get any better. Also, you may try to turn off the first officer/copilot pfd/nd by tuning brightness down until the screens are black

dont forget you can lower glass cockpit refresh as well to boost performance.  Default is Medium, try it on low - this can be found in graphics settings right at the very bottom.  I gain upwards of 5FPS doing this which doesn't sound a lot, but can be difference between mid 20s and above 30 FPS.

MP and traffic are off. Stuttering remains.

Turning off F/O screens helped me as well and the mentioned lower refresh rate for the screens.

Also make sure that vsync is off, clouds to medium or high, ultra is taxing....

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

Devs said that at some point the team will do some optimizations for the displays because those are more complex than the stock A320, and yes I can confirm that the A320NX is a bit heavier on frames than stock A320 and lower glass cockpit refresh setting helps a bit.

Yeah turning off the FO screens helped a ton for me.

Yes that will help to gain some fps, but the instruments looks like they are running in a jerky slow-mo, even at medium.

I agree the Low settings does make the PFD "jerky"....not so much on Medium which is the default for me at least.  Still its a cheap way to boost FPS particularly landing in heavy FPS areas like LA, London etc.
