December 22, 20205 yr Maybe just where I live, on Vancouver Island, but there are now "volcanoes with lakes in them" in the medium distance that do not exist in real life, and disappear when getting closer. Only to reappear when leaving them behind.. The DEM information/treatment is getting worse here, not better ☹️ Edited December 22, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
December 22, 20205 yr I have ice spikes on lakes (several hundred feed high) close to CYYD. They disappear when you get close to them - odd.... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
December 22, 20205 yr I see these mesh spikes as well on several locations, for example around EDDL which looks like Monument Valley. They seem to be related to inland water bodies. Edited December 22, 20205 yr by RALF9636
December 22, 20205 yr Whenever there is an update and I start MSFS, I am being asked to go to my Microsoft Store and download the initial part of it. In case of the latest update today, it was around 1 GB. When I then start MSFS, it looks for updates, doesn't find any and then proceeds to the normal launch. For some reason, unknown to me, it has been this way from the initial installation of MSFS in August. That is why today I'm still on build 11.6. If I want to have any updates installed, it means for me, delete MSFS from your PC and start from scratch. Oh well... Now, if there is one advantage to this, it's the wait and see attitude, I'm being offered. Because if you guys see major issues with the new build, I just stay with what I have 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

December 22, 20205 yr saw the same mountainous artifacts around Florence, Italy, when checking out VR with Sim Update #2.
December 22, 20205 yr & terrain 'spikes' reports seem to be common now in many areas, be good to hear from Asobo what the problem is.

December 23, 20205 yr I also noticed several blurry vertical terrain spikes when landing in Osaka Japan. I was landing at the time so didn't have the opportunity to see if they would disappear if I flew close to them. i9-13900K @ 5.8Ghz / Asus TUF 4090 OC / 32 GB DDR 5 / Corsair 1000W PS / Pimax Crystal / 2 SATA SSD / 2TB M2 SSD/ DOF Reality H3 motion platform/ Win 11
December 23, 20205 yr I also notice these odd looking hills and spikes in flat areas where I've never seen before, and they disappear as you get close and reappear as you get away. This was noticed after departing from EGGM in England. I thought it was me but seems like this is affecting others as well.
