Whose 'WE'? You can buy it but not me. I'm fed up with being told to support developers who don't come through.

I'm not dropping $45 on something that is missing features the stock aircraft have, no matter what excuses the developer wants to make.  I'll wait for MilViz or A2A and see what they bring to the table.

I don't expect decent Arrow from other developer any time soon. But on a flip coin side perhaps JF will reconsider and add it.

Do you know what's worse than the current icing state in the sim? Not having any icing at all.

I can't agree with that. Just see how bad it looks on the Carenado Arrow:

Why should the engine cowling ice up like this when the hot engine is direct below it? And what about the ice build-ups around the window and door frame or between the vertical stabilizer and the rudder. That's just not realistic. For me this cartoon-like icing model is more of an immersion killer than having no icing at all.

meh ... for me not implementing the carnival side show version of icing in the current sim is a bonus - we have crazy icing in light cloud and thunderstorms that should rip your wings off you can fly through with a just a wee bit of turbulence for your trouble

Providing they intend to implement it eventually when icing in the sim is fixed it is not a biggie for me.

I will however be waiting for the arrow/turbo-arrow package .

The icing model in MSFS is probably the best of any stock sim yet.

They could tune down the rate at which ice accumulates when in freezing conditions w/precipitation.  They also could tune down how it accumulates when it's freezing with no precipitation.

If you use the Meteoblue website and look at freezing levels, OAT, etc you can plan around it.

I'd hardly call it "broken at the core".

I like it, whats so wrong its only a sim..🤗

The aircraft developer chooses where the ice texture map gets applied. At least Carenado tried.

Yes, i do agree with you that the current state of the icing is not perfect but if that's your metric then they should also leave out the garmin units dont you agree? Those are waaaaay worse than the icing model. Lots of missing features, crashes etc.

Crippling the plane was unacceptable. Not having to worry about icing kills the immersion a lot. Taking out something that even the crappy carenados have is.... well... unacceptable to me. I was going to buy both: The arrow and the turbo. This is for sure a deal breaker for me anyway. To those of you who are going to buy it anyway i wish you well and enjoy it a lot!

I wlll keep waiting for something else then.

That would be good. hate Glass Cockpits. Only fly steam gauge.  or the Bleriot.

Sadly I think he game deleting the Garmin's is unlikely.  We can only hope.

I bought the Mooney and the Seminole and I think that's enough Carenado for me (at least until the next Christmas 40% off sale), so I'm going to wait to see what Milviz and A2A bring to the table and keep flying around the world in my RY Turbo Bonanza.  No icing effects at this price point is a dealbreaker.  They could put an option on the EFB to configure the icing to give everyone the options they want.

Suit yourself Carenado Mooney and 182 show visual ice but it doesn't affect performance. I really don't think it's a winner!

Yes, I agree! I would never use these bad Garmin units without the excellent mods. I'm also not going to buy the Turbo Arrow because of the wrong simulation of turbocharged engines. I can't get much enjoyment out of something that is badly simulated.

I am actually concerned the next update will break the RY Bonanza.

EDIT:  The Mooney was good for the price, a few bugs like the DME switch turning off the AP and ADF but mainly annoyances nothing chronic.
