Just Flight Piper Arrow III Preview

A bit disappointing but I do understand the logic. As a software engineer I'd tend not to build a feature at all if the best I could do was a poor implementation. I have to admit that I've found the icing conditions in the sim quite annoying. Inches of ice buildup within seconds of entering a cloud with OAT of 15oC and upon leaving clouds at 2000ft altitude it won't clear.

I agree missing ice effect is disappointing. I would leave it optional even if it's as bad as default. I hope JF will reconsider and provide this solution in meantime. On the bright side good Arrow pilot should never end up in ice! LOL

Icing is not something I will miss, on the contrary, I'm glad JF ignored it, at least as it is simulated for the time being.

Have any of the previews mentioned framerate/performance with this?  The plane looks great, but I'm just wondering if it is going to tax my old system a bit too much.  With the video card shortage, I've put my upgrade on hold until prices settle a bit.  I'm hoping that the simpler avionics will not impact things much.

At this point I’d rather have no icing than my aircraft looking like it got coated by a foam cannon every time I graze a cloud.

That's because they have to plan around it. I want to simulate planning around it, just like I have to in my Carenado WACO which does get affected by icing conditions as I found out a couple of months ago when we had freezing snow and ice here in the UK. No need to do any of that if the JF PA doesn't get affected. Yeah, let's fly through the clouds in freezing temps just to save some journey time instead of having to plan around it. 🙂

Really nothing stop a person to plan sim flight like IRL, and fly it without actually getting into icing

But that's my point, with the JF PA there's no need to do any planning at all because it doesn't matter whether you fly into icing conditions or not.

You should read what I read all my posts above especially pay one with keyword like "disappointing" ," I hope JF change mind" and so on

Based on comments in the YouTube video, it might actually be that there are aerodynamic impacts of icing with no visual representation.

This would be pretty confusing for users flying the sim with icing on, because you'll ice up and fall out of the sky with no visual indication.

Maybe Just Flight can clarify what their plan is there.

Yes, I agree! I would never use these bad Garmin units without the excellent mods. I'm also not going to buy the Turbo Arrow because of the wrong simulation of turbocharged engines. I can't get much enjoyment out of something that is badly simulated.

What turbocharged (not turboprop) engine aircraft do we have in the game at the moment - The Turbo Bonanza mod obviously but apart from that does the SR22 have a turbo ?

Uh, excuse me, but aren't we pretending to be flying, seems if we can do that, we can manage to fly like there might be ice. Something strange going on here.
