March 9, 20215 yr If we buy directly from JF can I treat it as a 3RD Party Addon (install in the Community folder) and use it with AddonLinker OR can someone tell me if it will be an “Official Marketplace”Addon purchase and reside (install) into the “Packages\Steam\Official” folder? My preference is to have it in the “Community” folder. Just curious. March 10, 20215 yr @JustFlightScott Hiya, hope I'm not bothering you too much while you're busy getting things ready for release! I just have a couple questions. Firstly, how is PC performance compared to the default planes? I have a pretty mediocre PC that can just about keep 30FPS at the best of times, so I can't afford much loss. With the terrible exchange rate on top of things I'd hate to spend $60 only to find it slows my game down with the added detail and complexity. Second, will the interior textures be included in the paint kit, or at least be easily accessible? I do like the red, but it never hurts to have options 🙂 In any case, you're doing great work!

Best option is to buy from us at Just Flight and get the 66% discount on the Turbo when it arrives but your call of course. Is the bundle total price going to be identical to buying the Arrow first at the full price and then getting the Turbo Arrow later at a 66% discount ?

I'm still wondering if I qualify for a discount for a P3D v that I bought from PC Aviator. I'm starting to think that the answer is NO. So it's a no to this airplane and any other JF add-on. MSFS

Any problems then get in touch with us and if you can prove proof of purchase we should be able to sort you out with the discount on our store. I wasn't intentionally ignoring you it just got missed with the fliting between the zillions of sites and forums I'm trying to cover currently.

Not quite, cheapest way is to buy the Arrow first get the 66% discount on the Turbo Arrow and use it when it appears. The bundle is really aimed at those who come along at a later date who might decide to keep things simple and buy at that point. Hope that helps.

Sorry it wasn't meant to be dismissive we just hadn't made a public announcement about it. The explanation is that there are different dev teams so there was no upgrade(?) route from FSX/P3D to XP and same for MSFS. However, anyone buying the MSFS Arrow will get a significant discount on the Turbo when it comes out as you probably know. Hope that at least answers your question.

My preference is to have it in the “Community” folder. Just curious. If bought from us then it will be a Community folder addon just like any other non-marketplace 3rd party addon (payware or freeware) If bought from the marketplace it will be in the Official folder and MSFS will keep track of it for filechanges, updates, decryption etc so it shouldn’t be moved from there or modified in any way. While the 3rd party version can, in theory, be used with AddonLinker and similar hardlink utilities you will need to make sure it is currently linked when installing later updates or doing a repair or uninstall. Also do not change the package name. Updates are organised around a known location and package name so manually messing with the paths or files could cause problems for you later. We don’t officially support the use of hardlink utilities with our MSFS packages so use at your own risk. While hardlink tools are useful for managing the huge number of freeware packages available it is recommended that commercial addons (not just ours) are installed as intended and not modified in any way. Commercial installers may be doing other setup things as well as simply copying in the package files so you run the risk of breaking something if you modify things after installation. Just be careful. Hope that helps.

Don't worry, no bother (honestly 🙂 ) Understand your predicament - we have had zero reports of frame rate issues, none at all and a couple of YT videos have actually reported the frames being friendlier than on some of the default stock. That said if you do encounter any issues please get in touch with us and we'll do what we can to help you. Pretty sure the interior textures won't be in the PK but there's no reason why they can't be modified via the textures if you're feeling up to the challenge. We did see that happen with the XP and P3D versions. Hope that helps.
March 10, 20215 yr @JustFlightScott Can you tell us if today is the day? Or is it going to slip further thanks to sim update 3? Juan Ramos

I will try and tell you more as soon as I can. The damage was minimal from sim update 3 so that's good news, few small things getting addressed currently. I'm hopeful (but I did say that yesterday and the day before).
