I flew KBZN-KBIL last night and saw no snow at either airport and traces of snow mid route.  I assumed it wasn’t depicting properly but when I check the snow depth map on the Windy app it showed no snow at either airport, and largely very thin snow coverings along my route.  So it turns out it worked in my case, there just wasn’t much snow to see.

Like does the real world snow depth need to be a certain depth to see any snow??

That's what it feels like.

Still no snow at my hometown which has like an inch out there.

Some discussion going on in this thread, no dev comments but some investigation.

Here's a quote from PierrePhot68 I found interesting

I really wonder what is the grid size of the snow model in the sim, the aera covered by snow in the Sierra Nevada is at least 400 square kilometers wide (20 x 20 km), it seems that Meteoblue has data that matches with webcams, however, there is no snow at all in the sim (the only visible snow is part of the Bing images themselves).

If we take the example of a much bigger mountain range such as the Pyrenees between Spain and France, we fall into an opposite problem, right now the sim is showing a full cover of snow over the Pyrenees even at the bottom of the valleys, under 700 meters where there is actually no snow. That makes me think that the sim grid for snow model is actually very large in the sim (larger than the 2x2 km said to be used for live weather).

At this time I'd be satisfied if I could use Live Weather and set a custom universal snow depth.  But of course you can't customize any weather when selecting Live Weather.

So I guess static weather it is for me so I can see some snow.

The rockies are all covered in snow.

Snow in South Georgia Which meteoblue says there should be, but there's too much, meteoblue says it should only be at the tops of the mountains, but in the sim it's everywhere.

Snow in Japan where Meteoblue says it should be (the mountains east of Toyama).

But an area just north of here, Wajima, that should also have snow, doesn't.

Upon hearing of the snow in Spain I set out from Madrid to take a closer look, seems like a half-arsed feature addition to me. Roads had snow on them, roof tops & trees didn't....do it right or don't do it at all is my philosophy, Features should be released Complete not 50% finished, leaves yet another sour taste.
