Any mods to create wake effects?

Read the latest words from Hendrick and his global ships which will be launched shortly. It will be a little while before that will be possible, etc.

I wonder how exactly the wind parameter affects the water. I know that you can increase the turbulence of the water by increasing the wind effect, but how exactly does it work? Does it affect all the water in the sim, or just a certain area of water? MIght the wind variable be manipulated in some way to create turbulence behind a boat? I'm thinking they might create a box around the boat like they do for the rain on the windshield effect.

Hopefully stuff like this will be introduced when particle effects come to the SIM

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

For now, just turn up your surface winds to a 15-20 knots level (or even more) and you'll notice more waves than before.

I don't personally like the way the turbulence or wind effect over the GA aircraft is modeled in MSFS, so I suggest keeping the winds at the lowest possible value you start to notice the waves over the water.

If you have the weather presets from SoFly (found at ORBX Central), there's a preset named "Coastal Winds" that does a good job.

I know someone had made a mod back in the old days (FS2004?) to create wake effects for float planes. Now that we have some excellent amphibians to fly (like the excellent Bush League Legends Cub pictured below), I'm wondering if anyone has seen such a mod for the new sim?

According to Asobo all FX effects will come when they introduce DX12. That included wake effect for floats!

Water physics in general needs work. Float planes do not act like floatplanes...

My Water look fantastic by using real weather 😉
