December 23, 200619 yr And thanks for the heads up, here too!For me, this is kind of sim heaven! A great performing airplane, with the worlds best flight dynamics, along with my favorite scenery!Shown here is the new "left seat" FSX model. I'm not even seeing a frame rate hit, which is how the FS9 models were! What's very noticeable, is the improved clarity of the panel, and the same goes for looking out over the rivet lines on the wings. I can only assume that FSX's improved resolution extends to more than just scenery! But I'm still happy as can be, that the FSX SF260 is still a frame rate friendly aircraft!L.Adamsonhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/163686.jpg

December 23, 200619 yr And so much for the FSX VC landing light "bug" in all but the default planes. Landing lights are visible from the VC and outside. Nice! Wonderful with TrackIR4!Bob.. Bob Prince
December 23, 200619 yr Hi. Just bought the upgrade. It's GREAT. Looks GREAT, flies GREAT. I already have modified the 2d panel for myself by adding Simicons for the map, atc, kneeboard and gps which were missing. Now if I only could figure out how to add them to the VC I'd be really happy. Regards, Bob.
December 23, 200619 yr Update:I paid for, downloaded, and installed the FS-X version. The RA FS.260 has always been one of my favorite addons, so I ponied up earlier than I might normally do for this update of one of the (way too many) FS9 add-ons that I have.Folks, if you have never bought a payware airplane, or are holding off to update your FS9 hangar full of airplanes - this is a keeper. I have only spent about 1/2 hour flying the updated Marchetti, but I already know that the Real Air folks have done an incredible job of completely rewriting a great FS9 airplane for FS-X.The setup program has an option to turn off 2D cockpits. I fly from the VC view occasionally in most of the aircraft that I fly, but typically end up in the 2D cockpit at least for IFR approaches, so I went "yeah right" but decided to give it a go anyway.Hmmm, maybe this will be the first airplane that I don't need the 2D cockpit in. Real Air has taken full advantage of the "A" view switch key, and provided several views including a couple that are well-suited to IFR needle-chasing activities. Well done! The other thing I noted is that this airplane has no negative effects on framerate, and in fact it seems smoother in that regard than the stock airplanes (and that's in the VC view!).As I said I only have 1/2 hour in this add-on, but I just had to post and suggest that for anyone that wants to buy themselves an FS-X addon for Christmas, this might be the one.cheers,Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack

December 23, 200619 yr Besides a left seat; what does it have that FS9 version doesn't?Best Regards, Donny:-waveFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
December 23, 200619 yr I don't even own FSX and I'm still tempted to purchase the new version. That's how much I love these RealAir guys and the SF260. Great service as always getting this out so soon.
December 23, 200619 yr Author Hi David,It has been quite a hard task to persuade people to finally ditch 2d panels, but thanks for taking the plunge! As you can see, our 2d "mode" within the 3d VC is actually clearer, sharper, and a lot smoother, than most conventional 2d panels, especially if you have Anti Aliasing set (if you can) at 4x, but it works well at 2x also. The "A" key views in FSX enable us to focus close in on the panel in such a way that really makes traditional 2d panels redundant. And the "A" key switching is so fast you do not have to wait for the panel to load.....once the VC is loaded all the other views are instantaneous.Kind Regards,Rob Young - RealAir Simulations Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
