Why isn't the TBM for sale on the Org store as well as X-Aviation? I am sure there is a good reason but I can't think what it could be? The JRollon is for sale on both. Is it the commission? Or what? Or is it just your unconditional desire to attempt to stay relevant and noticed? I think he just knows how to call you out...consistently in this thread. You come into the "threads" constantly to "scold" people for having an "opinion" that does not align with yours.

It changed a lot through XP11, from near silence, to regular detailed updates, and back to whatever the ___ it is now, I only caught the end of XP10 so can't say much about before that - other than their business model is very different to what you get with "games". Support/Engagement is via here: https://www.x-plane.com/product/x-plane-11-professional-use-usb-key/ Everyone else gets what they are given. At least there is a direct shared channel for developers now, still in its early stages, but going well I would say - except everything I keep hearing is for things that are a long way off. Which brings me back to earlier, reasonably sure the #1 reason they are silent at the moment, is because they have nothing to say - like literally - their focus is on mobile and art assets, don't have the resource to finish fixing desktop. March 18, 20215 yr Just now, GoranM said: Why would I tell someone I don’t even know, my thought process about my business decision making?? Well you might if you thought it would help your sales? And you might if you thought it would help customers to understand the pros and cons of buying from this or that site? It was a genuine query on my part. I am interested to know. That's all. Nothing else behind my question. If you choose not to answer so be it.

XP11 made many advances over XP10, in looking at just the menu system and introduction alone. I bought XP10 when it was first released, was shocked to see empty airports and had to shelve it for year until they made updates to address performance, particularly with AMD cards. So I imagine that first impression is still there with me. But when I look at the progression...in total...over all of these years, I think LR could have done so much more to address even the little things. And while the freeware community is great, having to rely on so many addons (and updates and conflicts) just grew tiresome, particularly when I felt that LR could have incorporated some of the things in their core product...so we would not have to afterwards. Over time, It just felt fragmented in what it offers and unpolished...like great night lighting...that does not extend far enough (not to mention the clouds). So I need more freeware to extend the night lighting... Overall, I think XP caters to a very niche crowd (who are fine with the above), but I don't see how that crowd can fund much more development. I think LR had a chance to capture a broader base (particularly after MS Flight failed) that may not be there today.

X-Plane would be nothing without its addons, keeping them at arms length encourages competitive development. Have you tried X-Plane mobile? ...... its not good..... flying with a keyboard back when was bad enough... without even that, and no addons other than the small collection of planes in the gallery... ughh 1 hour ago, FlyBaby said: I think XP caters to a very niche crowd So far, imho, its done a fantastic job of providing a solid platform to the thousands of little niche crowds in flight sim, from schools offering C172 training, from trainee to helo pilots like me to the over 60s that just want to run through their checklists and sit on VATSIM at FL390 (gliders not so much apparently....) This is where XP mobile falls down, DCS falls down, even MSFS falls down, everything else serves only one niche well (mobile -> poor people that cant afford desktops - DCS -> the warbird crowd, MSFS -> the light GA VFR crowd that dont know or care that much about aviation). As a product XP also does only one thing well - allows great products to be developed at an economical (often free!) cost. Austin made good choices early on, and that kept it alive and growing, Pretty sure this was accidental - as in "wasn't the plan". this is just as absent from Austins interview as anything with legs for the future. (and an explicit part of the MSFS plan...) Edited March 18, 20215 yr by mSparks AutoATC Developer
