So I guess you don't mind doing something rather embarrassing. Edited March 19, 20215 yr by GoranM

Est download time 1 hour 47 mins. Nice servers you've got there! Edited March 19, 20215 yr by jarmstro
March 19, 20215 yr Commercial Member Ah. I gave you (obviously) too much credit of taking you at face value. Thank you for clearing up your sarcasm. Can we look forward to more sarcastic comments from you? hmmm. That edit. Is that sarcasm? I’m guessing no. Anyway, if you have a problem with the servers, talk to Bezos. X-Aviation uses Amazon servers. Edited March 19, 20215 yr by GoranM

Or will they wait for the MSFS marketing campaign to die down to announce anything, sometime after the XBox series X release in 2024. Edited March 19, 20215 yr by mSparks AutoATC Developer

That's a foreign concept to him; he thinks his sim is the best. Of all the current civilian flight sims on the market, XP is the only one where the lead developer just doesn't care about what anyone else is doing. Lockheed Martin is somewhat in that category too with P3D, but the contrast is more stark when it's down to a single owner/lead developer like Austin. XP12 will happen when he thinks it's ready. Objectively speaking, right now would be the best time to release XP12 while the new kid on the block is having teething issues and there aren't many aircraft to fly. But Austin doesn't think this way. X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor

Well, the general "groupthink" reason being given for why they haven't announced anything is they are waiting for the MSFS marketing campaign to die down.. seen that thrown around by multiple influential names a lot these last 6 to 12 months. 1 hour ago, Paraffin said: Objectively speaking, right now would be the best time to release XP12 while the new kid on the block is having teething issues and there aren't many aircraft to fly. 100% agree 1 hour ago, Paraffin said: But Austin doesn't think this way. EDIT: Also, .... 100% agree OK, ~40 to 50% agree. The other 60-50% of me thinks they are just so far from having any of this ready 10 hours ago, Janov said: If you are still wondering what will be the new things in X-Plane 12, here is what has been confirmed and hinted at in various spots: Improved lighting Improved weather Improved multiplayer Improved aerodynamics (transonic/supersonic regime) New aircraft I personally believe we will also see: Better mesh (resolution, landclass) Better roads (fidelity) Better vegetation Better support for electrically powered flight/VTOL More landmarks Even for mobile - their priority. There will be no streamed satellite scenery, the visuals will likely close the gap, but I warn everyone against expecting a "MSFS killer". Just to curb expectations. Cheers, Jan I don’t think many folk are looking for a “MSFS Killer” with respect to graphics… XP just needs a facelift (or just be in the ballpark) given how far modern PC graphics (capabilities) have come. In looking at just water and clouds (and away from XPs direct competition)…DCS World and the IL2 Series have great looking clouds and water because they realize that it adds to the immersion. Not mention their rain effects. If combat sims get it, why not a civil sim? I am not expecting XP to beat out anyone per se, I just want the clouds to look like clouds (out to the horizon) and the water to look like water...without killing performance or me having to rely on payware / freeware for these “bare” features. It’s 2021…
