How to delete msfs 2020

Featured Replies

First, let me tell you what happen.  After the last up date, I lost my flight sim exe icon; both the one on the desktop and the one from the start menu. Secondly, I had a community folder copied to my desktop; it suddenly disappeared. Because I have no Microsoft Flight Simulator exe, I can neither repair or delete and yet my hard drive size remain the same--files must still be on the system. My question is, is there a utility that remove all files related to MSFS 2020. I was about to reinstall, then I realized, space is a premium. I need to rid my computer of all files related to MSFS 2020. By the way, MSFS 2020 has the worse customer service I have ever encountered; for the price we paid for the Premium Deluxe version, we should be better appreciated with a human customer service. I have restarted X-Plane and I really like it. Note: I have been trying to get in touch with MSFS and Asobo for the last two weeks, to no avail. I thought I could get someone to take over my system and help find the culprit. Any suggestions?

Can you go to the Microsoft Store, and look in your Library?

If you find MSFS, try to Launch it!

Bert

If that all fails, go to Windows Settings / Apps and look for MSFS there.

You can Repair or Reset, or Uninstall.

Bert, that sounds interesting. Could you point to a site that gives me step by step instructions on how to use my Microsoft Store Library to see inside my file system. By the way, I have, in the past, found both my exe file and my community folder, now both are gone. As to your second post, In Settings, the only flight sim file I have is Microsoft Soft Flight SimConnect Client v 10.0.61259.  Thanks for your help.

You sarcasm doesn't know boundaries. Why not ask to write letter to Santa instead?

There is way to delete manually the whole flight simulator. I've done it once with beta prior installing release. Unfortunately beta forum instructions on how do to it are not accessible anymore. I barely remember now how I did it, but I believe we had to delete all files in app data\local\packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator and in another two places that I can recall now! I would recommend to do PC search for  Microsoft.FlightSimulator folders and delete all data you can find

The Microsoft Store shows you which "Games" you have installed, if you choose "My Library".  (Click on the three dots at the top right for the dropdown menu).

If MSFS is not listed, it is not "owned" by you...

Are you logged in with your MS account ID?  Same as you used when you purchased the sim..!

I had a problem two days ago when I started MSFS it told me to insert the disc. I purchased it from direct download, so I decided to go to MS Store and did what you suggested, and hit the three dots on the upper right of the screen. I then found MSFS and clicked on Launch, and MSFS started up. No problems after that.

MSFS 2020 is like Hotel California;

"You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

Every other sim's got the sound turned down in comparison.

Done over 4000 NM since leaving the SouthCoast of the UK and ferrying the Caravan to Fort Lauderdale - then, my time became my own - and I'm just flying where the wind takes me. Not a single CTD, everything loading up perfect, no complaints. Perfect Sim. Persistent flights (so Take Up where I left the aircraft on the last flight) Not a single issue.

A lazy approach down to the Turks And Caicos Islands Sporting Club Resort on Big Ambergris Cay. Longest Runway in the Caribbean - so they say. So I shall enjoy the hospitality available tonight and then do a smartish dawn departure before anyone can hit me for the landing Fees. Might even fill the tanks while no-one is looking - as this lot can obviously afford it. X

I did that. I checked out of FSX due to too many BSODs in the day, but I never really left the genre, just put it on hold until ASOBO made me check back in. It's like a drug or the mafia: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" Michael Corleone, Godfather III, such a great scene.

sd flyer, are you serious--I would be more than happy to write a letter.

Bert and Bob when ever I click on the three dots at the top right, I get "install on my device."

Are you indeed logged in with the same MS account ID that you used previously?

It appears that the Store has lost track... so I would say Yes to install.
