As the title says, MSFS does not launch anymore. It repeatedly brings up the Store page with Microsoft gaming services. Only choice is to "Install on my devices". After that I select my device and "Install now". I get a message "thank you, we are attempting to install on your selected devices" and that's it. On the Gaming service main page it says 'this product is installed".

However, attempting to launch MSFS leads to the same Store page ..

I also checked the downloads and updates page, it says "you're good to go"

Any ideas ?

Okay, found a solution to it. The problem is Microsoft's Gaming Services getting stuck in an update loop, and since it is part of the Windows system you can't easily reinstall it to sort things out, so if anyone else is having this problem (and apparently lots of people are since there is a big thread on it on the MSFS forums) the solution is as follows:

Open your Registry Editor then go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section, then to SYSTEM then to Current Control Set then to Services. In that bit you will find two things - Gaming Services and Gaming Services.Net - delete both of those two things completely and then restart your pooter. Sorted.

Pretty sad that people have to tinker in the registry to make this work.

Oh jeeezus, having to tinker about with the registry. Should never have to go that far. Roll on Xplane 12. 😁

I tried that and the Gaming Services & Gaming Services Net have not returned to the registry after restart & trying to upgrade. When selecting MSFS It goes straight to the MS store & tries to relaod the Gaming Services. I am lost as a fix

Any more ideas out there

Hello, I have the same problem.
When starting MSFS I only get to the store page. But there I can no longer download the Game Services.

 Well if you screw your registry up in the process, I am sure that someone from Zendesk will help you fix it. 😁 

HI Kev. I used CCleaner to delete my corrupted Game Services and then normally through the Store 
uploaded again. Bang, everything is fine again.
For me. I hope it works for you too.

I had the same problem I had the application repaired and I lost everything = (not want to reinstall everything goodbye lol.
I will come back when there are trains in the game !

Afrer a lot of messing about with the Microsoft store. Dont aske me what I did.

The store would allow me to download & install the game. Many hrs later it is up & running & no data was lost. Hooray!

For my part, i first empty community folder for first start after update.
