May 27, 20215 yr Still get a worse/bad performance after update SU 4 near the ground, any one else is watching this ? It gets mutch better at around 14000 feet and above.. Pre-patch with my current settings on a 1440p monitor I was getting between 45 FPS (flying low) and 70 FPS (at altitude looking up at a mainly clear sky) in game depending on location and aircraft, and I have made short video clips of the test flights last patch, so it is easy enough to reproduce them and compare the number post patch and look for any differences. May 27, 20215 yr The same has a lot of lag on the ground and as soon as I took off it is much better! And sometimes when it's fluid at a certain moment on the ground it starts not to be fluid anymore when I line up on the track it's strange

In the air it was like 32-38 fps. I have no clue, as your spec's are way better then mine. I mean way better. Good luck! May 27, 20215 yr Big airports have many planes on the ground. Reduce them to below 20% and see what happens.

May 27, 20215 yr There is an issue on the ground at below 20 knots for some reason that I can't figure out (I have tested this to death!) which is why it can look choppy when you turn when you are taxiing. I hope they can trace the issue. You see it on a lot of peoples Youtube videos. In a typical medium sized airport scenario, I get 60% GPU utilisation at altitude, about 80% on approach and touchdown and rollout, and 100% maxed out as soon as the speed drops below about 20 knots - GPU utilisation tops out at 100% causing stutters. As speed picks up above about 20 knots, the GPU drops to 80% again. Strange, as I would expect it to be the opposite way and work harder when moving rather than stationary. The moral of the story - if you don't want it to get stuttery, taxi fast! 😆 Obviously this may not apply to people with RTX3080's etc, but you should still see extra GPU utilisation when stationary. You can monitor this easily with the right software. Hopefully Asobo can trace the cause of this, but I don't think it will be a priority, and you never know, DX12 might solve it. May 27, 20215 yr I can confirm on my rig performance close to the ground has become worse by about 10 to 30% depending on the scenario when compared to late 2020/early 2021. As I am running at 4k and was scraping 24fps, this is particularly annoying. Scenarios that were barely playable before have now become stutterfests. If I am flying at altitude I get around 30fps similar to before. This makes sense at altitude as one of the changes they made several updates ago was to quickly lower the resolution of ground textures as soon as you gain altitude which is less taxing for your GPU/CPU but makes the ground textures look meh especially at airports. May 27, 20215 yr The only difference I have noticed is that it is a bit choppy changing views the first seconds when you have enter the game, otherwise the performance is the same for me.
