Because of MSFS being released in August of 2020 .

Still none the wiser.  Can you explain why it's too late?

I honestly don't know facts………

Other wannabe experts/fortune tellers/psychics, making posts that it will be another year before XP12 comes out, have no clue what they're going on about.

And so by your own admission, you don’t know either.

You're right.  I don't.  And I never claimed to know.  The only people who know are Ben Supnik and Austin Meyer.  There is 1 person in this very thread who already put a timeline of a year on it.

Like I said, I've heard anecdotes around the LR virtual offices, because I'm in the (invite only) Laminar dev group, where a group of us provide feedback and ideas to LR so they can implement them.

What was your point?

They were speculating, not claiming to have any insider knowledge.  Nothing wrong with that in a forum is there, especially given that LR hasn’t communicated a roadmap?

I was with XP from the very beginning , I had many hours of enjoyment with it . I also used P3D also from  there beginning and also had many hours of enjoyment with it . But MSFS launched last August and I was blown away how good it was . I am a low and slow VFR pilot and I love the visuals that MSFS gives me . I have had one CTD since launch and zero issues with the updates . I respect your love for XP and I wish Austin all the best .

So your point in telling me...

Was that the other person was speculating?

Ok?

And it's the smartest thing they could do.  Why post a plethora of images and videos, along with a road map of a sim that isn't as popular (note I didn't say "isn't as good as") the competition.

Besides, road maps are the biggest trap of any dev.  In add ons, games or sims.  They are NEVER met.  And if they are, they are never properly done.  Case in point, the competing sim.  At release, there was so much wrong with it, I saw countless people get refunds through steam.  When it's ready, it'll be released.

That's all well and good.  And I wish you every enjoyment you can get out of whatever choices you make with anything in life.  Not just a flight sim.  But I still don't understand why Laminar are "too late".  If you mean they're too late for you to switch back to XP, please don't concern yourself.  I'm sure they'll survive without you.

I should have been more specific , sorry about that . They were too late for me when I made the switch to MSFS .

If you choose to put a time limit on things, regardless how they end up, that's entirely your right and choice.

I hope your faith in your choice pays dividends.  Now and in the future.

You said they didn’t have a clue.  They didn’t claim otherwise.  And you don’t either, as you said.  So what was the point of making derogatory comments?  These forums are full of speculation.  Not having a roadmap, whether it be a good or bad idea, is why we speculate.  It seemed like you took it personally that someone would dare say XP12 is a year away.  It might even be two.  Does this fill me with delusions of importance?

Well...yeah...they don't.

Speculating alludes to them THINKING they know, either based on some kind of weird assumption, some kind of mystical timeline with some sprinkles of information that they are privy to, or they just want to troll.

Look through Flybaby's post history in these X-Plane forums.  It might answer that question.

Speculation does no good to anyone.  It either dashes hopes or provides false hope.  Either way, they start rumours.  Which is why speculating is frowned upon, and WILL get a reaction from those who know better.  There's, literally, no point to speculating other than to feel important by projecting that feeling of, "I feel important now because I came out with this before anyone else did."  I deal with facts.  Not he said/she said/they said/I think.  If you have some kind of issue with this, I'm afraid that's on you.

Nope.  It takes a lot more for me to take things like that personally.  Like I said, look through his post history.  There's a common thread.

15 minutes ago, Gilandred said:

Depends on the context.  In this case, I would say no.  Due to it being a reaction to my post.  If you had said, "Going by what I've seen in the community, I would say it's AT LEAST 2 years before we see XP12.", I would say you are overflowing with delusions of importance.

My HOPE is that XP12 is around the corner, this year even.  Personally I like the teaser videos and gives me something to look forward to.  Which is flying my favorite aircraft again without having to “suffer” a significant visual downgrade in clouds and scenery.  Those favorite aircraft, for the record, are the LES Saab and IXEG 737 - just to show I bare no ill will towards any developer I may disagree with on the forums.

We'll see.  I'm a very patient person person.  So even if XP12 DOES take a year, I'm happy to wait, because I know how thorough Austin and Ben are when it comes to fixing bugs.

We all like teaser videos.  But too many can over saturate and turn me off.  Speaking for myself, of course.  Which is why I love the teasers every month or so.

I never have any ill will towards anyone.  Once I'm done debating a topic, it'll be about half a second before I switch off from that debate and it's back to work.  Dare I say it, a healthy discussion/debate sometimes breaks up the routine and gets me pumped.

Not that convinced by this little preview.   XP11 + xVision does the same (or better).

Yep.  He's back.  Didn't take much.  I've said it before.  NOTHING will convince you, Greazer.  We all know this.
