This 1 small video is trending throughout the entire X-Plane community.  Too late nothing.  Next gen graphics AND a superior flight model!

LOL....let me know when that "trending" video hits at least 1 million views.

It's always numbers with you, isn't it.  And you still don't get it.

The best 747 simulator is the Aerowinx 747.  Most accurate 747 systems by far, in any sim.  Yet it's sold a fraction of what MSFS has sold.

Ferrari sell far fewer cars than Chevy or Ford.  Does that make Chevy or Ford better than Ferrari?

Kim Kardashian, famous for being famous, has over 200 million followers on Instagram.  Elon Musk, who helped give us Paypal, reusable rockets for space travel, electric cars, and whatever else he's accomplished, has 385 000.

Do you still want to correlate numbers with what's better or more relevant?

You've succeeded in getting several threads locked with your constant praise of MSFS and constant criticism of X-Plane in an X-Plane forum.  I've never seen someone so hell bent on wasting their time trying to change the minds of an entire community.  I promise you, you're not that influential.

Yeah

Just like saying the lighting and the streaming graphic in MSFS "needs to be the least of the impressive advances", even though it was the number one most request feature change the community ask for.

Maybe our resident softie was subconsciously thinking about it in the context of "If this isn't the best they have microsoft is in real trouble - first DCS now XP"

It amazes me how the XP gatekeepers are the ones to mention "MSFS" or "Microsoft" in these threads that then start the debates, and then the closed threads.

Nope. lets stick with XP's video (with less than 20k views), What is more to come? When will it come? Will LR engage more with users, develop a consistent update schedule after release (roadmap) etc, work more with 3PDevs etc?

A teaser video is a start...

It amazes me that it's only TWO people, one who was recently slapped by a mod and told to quit it, who keep coming here to bring the topics down to an argument.

Yeah, lets.  A video that was released less than 24 HOURS AGO.  20 000 views in less than 24 hours is nothing to sneeze at from a company with less than 20 staff who have never spent a dollar on advertising.

When they feel like showing it, and no sooner.

They always have and always encourage its customers to contact Austin at [email protected] with questions, feedback, suggestions, etc...

On top of that, a dev blog was set up so people can interact with Ben Supnik.

Are they obliged to?  No one can provide a consistent road map.  No matter how good they are.

This one is laughable.  Just about every established developer work with LR on a daily basis in Slack.

Calm yourself down, stop mentioning MSFS to offer distractions.

Like I said, let me know when that vid hits 1M views. I am patiently waiting.

So that's your number?  1 million?  Why is that number so important?  What do you base it on?

I only see you trying to argue...

Again, calm down. You can let me know, or let it go. But I won't argue with you.

Of course you do.  Whatever is convenient to you.

Doing what most other trolls like to do.  Reaching for the "calm down" card.  It takes a lot more than a faceless attention seeker to get me worked up.

I can let it go?  You're the one who wants a 1 million count on a video, without any supposed reason for that number.  "Let me just pull a number out of my hat.  1 million will do."

Since you can't give me a reason for the number, the discussion is moot.

So, you can either let me know, or let it go and actually do something worthwhile with your life.

Have a wonderful day.  (Extremely calm typing)

Unlike Goran I will not let myself be dragged into the fruitless back-and-forth with Greazer, FlyBaby and Jarmstro 😆 They are all on my "ignore" list and that really helps! 😋

As I have said before - the next generation of X-Plane will close the gap to MSFS, but certainly not leapfrog it. MSFS looks close to photorealistic most of the time and there is no looking "better than real", so you can´t leapfrog something that has achieved close to 100%. 🙂

The video shows an impressive advance in the lighting engine, I am sure other videos of scenery and weather will follow. Just to be clear (again) - I am sure that there will be no satellite scenery in X-Plane future.

The simulator prevalence is everyone´s personal decision and everyone places emphasis on other aspects. Some favor the photorealistic presentation of scenery (especially low+slow VFR), others are into other things.

Nothing is set in stone, both simulators are being developed and in motion and evolving. Most of us will be able to purchase/buy both, maybe just out of curiosity and love for the hobby.

Yep.  He's back.  Didn't take much.  I've said it before.  NOTHING will convince you, Greazer.  We all know this.

Show me DCS clouds

Show me MSFS terrain

Show me Realistic and foamy waves

Show me wind, snow and rain effects

Show me living airports / world

The usual negativity and bickering... and from the same posters, it's becoming a common theme on this forum and is degrading and taking every post down with it.

Some people are excited by this video and are looking forward to seeing more progress, I'd suggest those that aren't to just move on, go back to MFS and enjoy what you have there if it makes you happy.

I'm not one to block or remove people from topics and I like a free discussion and debate like the rest of us, but this is getting out of hand on every post now and is making many topics unreadable.

If you walk outside your door, you will soon discover the real world looks nothing like the delusional one your hoping for

My hope is X-Plane remains an open platform to develop on and one that lets users hack away and do things with the sim... this is one thing that has always been enjoyable about X-Plane to me and why it has a great developer/freeware community and the fact that most file formats are open and it's easy to develop on. So if a user wants aerial imagery in the sim, there is nothing stopping them doing so... and for those like myself who like to hack away at the scenery engine, there is also a place for us.

I think the SDK for MFS is also fantastic for what it does and this is evident by the large amount of freeware and releases coming out for it... but also a lot of it is closed or undocumented and it's got to the stage were users are now reverse-engineering files (e.g. Mesh or road changes), and this is not ideal and can lead to unstable products using undocumented/unsupported hacks to change the sim. Given time and enough pressure from developers it will become more open

I'm wondering what exactly is meant by the term 'next generation graphics'? I'm hoping it doesn't mean that we will need next generation hardware.

Once upon I time, I believed that this forum was for the more thoughtful XP user. Now, I am not so sure. A tiny teaser video provokes an outburst of useless argument. As for Greazer, and his ‘show me this’ and ‘show me that’, some moderator should say ‘Enough is enough’ – and show him the door.
