Quick update-

The 7857 open beta version resolved all my issues I had reported to Hi Fi including the looping AS connect installer issue I had observed with v5.1 HF1.

I have not really tried EA mode in P3D yet but I am sure some of the weather experts around here will be able to comment on that.

What kind of issues were you running into?
I'm on 7851 and have no issues at all...

What does RTM stand for? And what is the impact of installing the latest version in this case?

Thanks

Shom

It means that the beta versions don't qualify for official support from HiFi. Beta users can still report bugs and get help on their official forums.

Thanks! Looks like the previous version listed does not support HF1 so assuming I've upgraded to HF1 I don't have much choice

RTM means "Released to Manufacturing" and is the non-beta (gold) production version released to the public.

I always thought it was Read The Manual but the abbreviation usually includes an “F”. 🤣

Actually, in this case it means that ASP3D 7857 (and 7851 before that) does NOT support P3D 5.2 RTM - as opposed to P3D 5.2 HF1. Clearly explained in the short note next to the download link.

I ran into 4 issues with the previous beta (B7851) but I stress this was all related to how the beta interacted with P3D v5.1 HF1.

They included:

  • Simconnect installer runs in a constant install loop.
  • No rain effects injected into the sim in a region where there was active thunderstorm activity
  • The radar window that ASP3D provides has a Detail mode when the range is set to ~40nm or less. No activity was showing in this window unless I unchecked the Detail button
  • No weather or radar returns shown on the QW787 ND

All were related to a Simconnect issue that the latest beta (B7857) has resolved for me.
