July 7, 20214 yr V4.5 User here. How does EA handle sky colour variations in V5.2? Do the dawn/dusk sky colours vary in an unpredictable way (pink, purple, red yellow, orange) or do they have similar shades during all weather conditions/days/seasons? Edited July 7, 20214 yr by DModjo

The weather radar is no where close to being useful. What to see how bad the global model is? Fly in Florida I the late afternoon during summer. With ASCA 2D clouds, it's way closer to what is actually occurring. With EA clouds, not even close. Yup. Every patch since 5.0 it's been the same convo... "Volumetric clouds are much better now!!" "Does it actually simulate weather yet?" "Well, no...."

Shame HiFi can't do anything about it and LM still hasn't addressed it. Yes, ActiveSky I'm afraid can't do anything about this issue which is going on for at least a year wherefrom whatever reason is LM/P3D is unable to fix EA, VF, and HDR. There are a few pics where we can notice differences. 1) at 6k no ea, no vf and no hdr. https://www.dropbox.com/s/54zdhao3b0vx02b/AN 6K NO EA.JPG?dl=0 2) at 6k all is on. https://www.dropbox.com/s/62wj0mx8kfoxdz1/AN 6K EA.JPG?dl=0 3) at 19k no ea, no vf and no hdr https://www.dropbox.com/s/rntyuugzakjghr9/AN 19K NO EA.JPG?dl=0 4) at 19k all is on. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n7u95mbcz1mz2e1/AN 19K EA.JPG?dl=0 Edited July 7, 20214 yr by killthespam 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
July 7, 20214 yr So if I want the most realistic real-world weather with EA and AS, what settings should I be looking at? AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

Volumetric clouds off in P3D, AS3PD in Live Weather mode and ASCA running for all cloud control. I leave EA atmosphere checked in in P3D for sky atmosphere control but use Envtex with ASCA integration to use their cloud sets. Eric

I've wondered this as well, seems like most of the sunrises and sunsets are identical with EA, so IF I had to guess, I'd say it's the same under all conditions at least from my experience.

Solid overcast at 900' means that the bottom of the cloud layer is 900'. It says nothing about where the top is. As long as you were in the clear until you climbed above 800', it was correct. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
