Updated to SU5 and updated all files in the Marketplace, but I don't see any change in the tree draw distance.  I have the level of detail slider at 200.  Considering MS said in a recent video the problem of the tree draw distance has been solved, I'm confused why the trees I see stop so close to the aircraft.

I think your screen resolution is the cause, Jean Luc of RXP made quite a technical explanation elsewhere about how the object binning works, it's based on percentage of screen space an object occupies but it is affected by screen resolution and I note you are running superwide, frmo what I gather superwide resolutions may suffer a "penalty"

Interesting, I purchased a 35 inch widescreen 2K monitor to getter a better view in MS2020 and X-Plane.  In X-Plane nothing changed with LOD, I just got a wider FOV.  

I have mostly been using X-Plane for two reasons

1..  PilotEdge online flying service recommends X-Plane over MSFS 2020 (at the moment, this may change in the future)

2..  My perception that the LOD, and other graphical elements have been reduced (Plenty of amazing graphics though 🙂).

 

I'll try some different resolutions to see if my LOD increases.

Tried different resolutions, windowed mode 1920x1080 but tree LOD is awful.

I'm happy with 200 and a lot more detail, besides the rural areas which is more obvious ...But to be honest I don't see a difference without a magnifier 🤣

🤣🤣 yes dangerous place now...

There is no way you could get Norway to look like this before: I think this is LOD 500, if I remember correctly.  FPS 60's

Not in menu. It's in config file called: UserCfg.opt

Do a test with your 400 or 500 at london EGLC and tell me you only lose 5fps.
