Whenever I go to turn off "Display Tail Number" and "Append Heavy Sign" and go back to check the options. They are both set to ON again. Seems like the settings are not getting saved and it's getting annoying.

Doesn't seem like the values are getting stored. Even though the entry boxes are blank, the tail number is still showing the name that I entered. None of these settings under the Custom section is saving. Anyone else facing the same issue?

Yup same here. I can't even type in a tail number, the sim resets the box to blank while I'm typing lol.

Thank you I'm not crazy lol.  Super annoying for realistic paints which already have tail numbers.

So it looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. The more I use MSFS, the more annoyed I get at discovering all these small issues. 

There's a lot of great things about this sim, and a lot of broken things.

I am confident they will fix these issues,there is so much to do in this sim,that I just go fly a different mission and A/C,when problems arise.

The entire Aircraft Customization form is broken. I have the ticket out with them since the day SU5 dropped, no response. My customization doesn't save anything and it's using my pre SU5 Airline and Flight number assignment, nothing is being saved.

Drumcode, exactly the issue I'm having as well. Nothing is getting saved under the plane's Customization section at all.

Even though it hurts to say it...Asobo needs to stop adding features and FIX the broken parts.  And do maybe 2 big updates per year....it's hard to keep up with changes...even our little VL3 Rotax 915is mod was broken by the latest update ugh.

 

 

 

I have found you can change the information if you save after every individual field.  The previous field will likely be blank again when you move to the next field, but the change is registered in sim and will be reflected on your next flight.  I don't know if this method can be used to clear the field, as I have not tried, but I have been able to change the registration and call sign and have it shown/spoken when I fly.

I've literally BEGGED for a solid foundation before layers of pretty icing (get the pun?)....

I'm trying to change my call sign, but the old one stick and can not be changed, it's like it is with this game right now, it will probably take several months to sort out this mess.

Did you try what I suggested three posts up?   Hit save after changing every field.  It will disappear, but should be changed in-game.  Sometimes you have to try more than once if the field goes blank while you are typing, but you should be able to type it in with another try.  It's far from ideal, but should work until they get an actual fix.

I did, I got the new text in to stick, but ATC still talk to me with my old callsign.

Well, it worked for me.  Like everything else in this sim, it seems everyone gets different results.
