A solution to my CTDs (?).

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Maybe I've found something. I have been trying to do a short hop between EBOS and LFAT in the DC-6 but I have had rather annoying CTDs (ntdll.dll) three times on roughly the same spot. While browsing the aircraft within the sim I noticed I had a FBW A320 installed. Thinking this was odd, as I've removed said aircraft from the community folder, I suddenly remembered installing the aircraft from the Marketplace. After uninstalling the aircraft I figured I'd try the route again. No issues at all this time. Here's to hoping this might have been it.

Yah, there are many addons that can cause issues. Best to make sure the game works without addons, then slowly add them back one at a time. I think for the FBW mod you need to uninstall/reinstall from their official web page to get the best version.

It just amazes me just because I just did a nice flight with the FBW neo from KEYW to KATL without any problem. Well, I ran out of fuel since the fuel load from my SimBrief flightplan did not work (again) so I had to restart the engines mid flight. Besides that no abnormalities and especially no CTDs. I nonetheless feel for anybody facing issues and especially CTDs

Nope. Turns out this wasn't a solution after all. CTD due to clr.dll.

Just curious, do you have your cpu or gpu overclocked?

I have also been fighting a lot of CTD's.

I am still testing but I have removed all overclocks and turned up the fan curves for my GPU to keep the temps down.

Still testing on the default 172 (empty community folder).

Thanks for the link, but I have the CPU at stock values (3900x) as well as the GPU (2080Ti). Temps seems to be under control (the CPU averages around 74C after hours of flying and the GPU around 70).

Thanks for the info, just shot down my theory lol.

Do you have any USB devices connected?

I haven't done any landing challenges for a while. I decided I'll make some today... I can make exactly 1 and when I attempt the second one - CTD. Every time, no matter which landing challenge or which plane. I didn't experience CTDs before but I always made only one flight and then exited MSFS.
