Well, actually, it will not make it's way into XP12 after all ...

I asked him instead for the modelling of substructural harmonics through a fast Fourier transform algorithm.

He told me I could only get one among the three, the thrid being an updated Runge-Kutta based on time stepping and a blend of second and fourth differences to control oscillations and provide background dissipation.

I believe you agree with me doing both would be asking too much, so, I'll stay with the Runge-Kutta implementation.

😂 At least we can laugh about it!

I think that is a big concession of yours towards easy gameplay for the unwashed masses! 😄

I personally lobby at LR for implementation of correct nutation of the earth axis. It is the one big omission that is holding back total domination of the flightsim market - and all of the fancy graphics of the competition can not compete with a killer feature like that!

Yeah that will do it! 😂

PS isn't the worlds axis bound to shift catastrophically as the ice fields melt and planes and cars cause Armageddon? Maybe X-Plane 12 should account for climate change? (Or global warming as it used to be called 30 years ago.)😀 Even simulating flight is in my book adding to the end of the world...😂

Hmm console! games! Hang on this is a "simulator" and not 'HALO". Can we please refrain from using the term "games" as we leave that for the other rebellious mob to debate about the other guys FPS fix update and which console to purchase 😉

Just a quick mention off topic, if anyone is looking to incorporate Global Art's and MEGA SP check the following item Update Mesh Sudeste Foto Real para SBSP GLOBALART - Lata Voadora

and, excuse the site needs a translator. There is also a mesh available for Rio as well which allows ortho4xp to incorporated with the appropriate scenery from Global Art's SBRJ and SBGL.

Especially great for anyone thinking of planning Azul Embraer flights in Brazil!

At least now we know why LR didn't think there was anything actually important that needed doing. That pulled Q&A makes much more sense knowing they were under the impression the only thing wrong with XP11 was the positioning of the North star.

This sort of thing makes me think that Meyer has no respect whatsoever for the vast majority of his customers which he uses as cash cows whilst pandering to the professionally obsessed.

Nobody is forcing anybody to buy or use X-Plane. If anybdy feels mistreated by Laminar or disagrees with its roadmap or way of doing things, simply not buying XPNG and using any other flight simulator instead is the only solution.

users like me who have no idea what you are waffling on about.😂

Magnetic north moves around a lot, they are discussing how and when that is important and how to simulate it accurately. Janov is apparently the one to blame for the current issues

Wiki need to update that old exaggerated terminology. Games are items like HOPSTOCH, LUDO, MONOPOLY, TIDDLEY WINKS, CONSOLES with FREE MARIO BROTHERS CARTRIDGES, PONTOON CARD GAME, LEGO, KERPLUNK or, even the OLD ACTION MAN RANGE which is where I feel our (Long Distances!) cousins path in another region of the world of flying are heading at the moment with that type area of the market and, I'm not sure if XP comes under that same generic label. I would feel PAST TIME, PROFESSIONAL SIMULATION would probably feel more appropriate with no bias opinions being offered as to who I side with which is no one.

I would hardly call XP a Space Invader or Pac Man clone either if we are trying for the atom level terminology label. 😉

Sparks,

believe me, it's really NOT Janov's fault ... I won't elaborate more into this subject other than to add that there will be no new update process for the magvar.

Again, not at all Janov's fault. I myself sent LR an updated table. It would be subject to the same innacuracies if used for a long period ( we update at least evey 5 years around here, navaids and aerodrome charts ).

I know that, but since he likes throwing random insults at me I thought he'd appreciate me reciprocating the love.

we are all to blame for bugs we don't report and/or fix.

@ mSparks hahaha, so we are now being classified in the bracket of Toys "R" Us with that other bunch of Rift Raft, is this what you are trying to warn us about. That because of that other entity in flying stimulus packages we are gradually being brought down to these levels of the need for Hippos and Flamingos everywhere in our everyday flying activities huh 😉

Big, complex, questions... choice.. destinations.. loops...choas... simulations..games....

Sometimes its just nice to throw on a VR headset and play the game without real consequences.

I'm sorry but the series lost its way at the end of season 1, they should have never done away with Hannibal Lector leaving Felix Leiter to carry on the work.

Sparks, as you surely know, the limits of Computation and it's mathematical base - Logic - were laid so "magically" by Kurt Gödel in the early 20s - 30s of 20th century ... And they're so so so desperately limitative that I smile everytime I see one of those news regarding the "huge" capabilities of  AI.... and ... really interesting stuff like, for instance, this:
