August 6, 20214 yr While I'm still waiting on my official support ticket, I figured I'd try with AVSIM. I purchased FS2020 from Steam and installed it on my SSD gaming drive. The simulator instantly crashes when I click "Fly Now". It doesn't matter what aircraft, airport, time of day. I have no addons, modifications, or changes to the community folder. This is a fresh installation. I can comfortably do, any deep-diving suggestions people can think of. I see the following error in Event Manager: PC Specs: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor GPU NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Ti NVIDIA Driver version: 471.41 (Game Ready Driver) Edited August 6, 20214 yr by Gulfstream
August 6, 20214 yr I bought FS2020 from Steam today and have same issue: FS2020 crashes as soon as you press FLY. (it kicks you out of the program). - all is up to date (video card, OS, FS2020,...) - My PC uses: OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Versión 10.0.19042 compilación 19042 RAM: 16 GB Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti - re-install and complete reboot of OS do not help. I found other user with same issue, that resolved the crash, applying the following: -- In Nvidia go to Manage 3D settings> Program settings tab> Select a program to customize.> select fs2020> all the way at the bottom and turn v sync off. In my case fs2020 is NOT listed , so I am not able to apply this possible solution.

August 6, 20214 yr Default Global settings in Nvidia panel should be "Let 3D program set V-Sync" So if you don't se MFSF in the program list it will use your Global settings. Have you enabled V-Sync inte game? If that doesn't help, try the studio version of the latest driver, or one older trusted one like 457.30, the newest game ready driver has caused CTD problems for some people. August 6, 20214 yr I've crashed on "Fly Now" I've crashed on "return to main menu" I've crashed on "exit simulator" Never crash in game though😄
August 6, 20214 yr Oh. Join the club. Crashes is something that happens to a small percentage of the users. Consider yourself chosen. I am one of you. I have never crashed in the menu, though. Always while flying. Especially hilarious is to crash 5nm from the runway after a 1500NM flight. Funniest thing ever. EDIT: In the DC-6 that is. August 6, 20214 yr Author I'm a seasoned veteran with both flight simulation and computers, so I am taking this in stride for now until I hear back from Microsoft or someone can give me a hint. I can't imagine if I was a regular customer who just purchased this on Steam, is ready to fly, hits "Fly Now" and is immediately booted out of the simulator. I have no idea how long it is going to take to get a qualified support response. I included everything from my dxdiag to my Windows event logs. Of course the first response I got is the 5-page autoresponder that starts with "First, let's run Windows Update".
August 8, 20214 yr Author Does anyone know how long it takes Microsoft to respond to technical support tickets? I paid over $100 for something I can't use, and while I'm patient, I wonder. MSFS took 6 hours to install, so that's already over the "refund limit" even though I can't fly.

Go into the sim .Settings and turn on developer mode (you can also set it as hidden (Top left) This cured all FLY Ctd's for me. August 8, 20214 yr Couple suggestions Remove anything that is plugged in your laptop and test Downgrade to an earlier GPU driver - I am on 460.89 12/15/2020 and have been stable since. I remember someone recommended an even earlier version
August 8, 20214 yr This probably won't help, but anyway: Make sure you're using your 1660 ti and not the onboard UHD Graphics 630 on your CPU?
