Working Title G3000 Glide Path

Featured Replies

I have done a few RNAV approaches in the TBM 930, and the glide path is kinda erratic. I am approaching from a level altitude as per the chart and the purple diamond almost seemed to engage but then it jumped to the top. It shouldn't behave like that. I have not tried the G1000 but it may do the same.

Greazer.

The G3000 still uses totally stock nav, autopilot, and flight plan management, so unfortunately those issues are going to be on the sim end. We'll be moving the NXi nav stuff over to the G3000 at some point though, after we get it really dialed in.

on the topic of g3000, i'm unable to turn off svt in the pfd for some reason, is this expected for v0.7.4?

I am having all sorts of issues trying to get the WT G3000 do RNAV approaches with glidepath guidance. I can get these to work with the default G3000 (kinda the glideslope diamond gets stuck but works eventually) but it seems to be much more of a hassle with the WT version.  What happens is that I load everything up as I have been doing with the default G3000 but the glideslope doesn't seem to activate when using the WT version and I get other errors to do with flight plan desynchronization whatever that may mean.  I think I will just give up on the WT G3000 until the work being done on the G1000 gets ported over.  Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I think you have the right strategy.. it is a work in progress.  🙂

Fly the WT G1000 nxi if you want to fly RNAV approaches, or stick to ILS approaches in the G3000, for now.

Knowing that the WT g3000 is still a work in progress (or the RNAV GS integration for FS in general) I still prefer it over the default version when flying the TBM.  I find it to be a great tool in many respects.  However, at this time, I never expect an RNAV GS to function as coupled.

I make sure I'm at the proper height and engage APR "just in case" I hit one of the few that does.  When it engages, I smile.  When it doesn't, I simply follow the step-down on the charts - haven't had any issues with the RNAV approaches.

Same strategy here too .. the NXi is developing nicely,  .. look forward to the next update

Yet we can only wait. I think WT want to get it 100% or close to in the G1000 before moving code to the G3000. So for now RNAV approaches in the G3000 are a no go.
