Here is a flight plan for a Papua bush trip which our FS20 Discord group flew a few months ago.   It starts out of Enarotali Airport,  which is situated on the nation's 3rd largest freshwater lake.

Papua Flight Plan

Enarotali Airport to Tiom

WABT to WX53 - WAYB - WABJ - WADJ - WANM - WAVA - WAVC- WABZ - WAWY to WAVT.

I chose Enarotali as my base of operations for my NeoFly career.   Some of the NeoFly missions are medical emergencies and require you to land within X km of X coordinates.   It can be a blast trying to pick out the only tiny clearing and trying to get in / out of it.  Bush pilots there don't have a lot of flat land,  just mountains and trees.    They have to get it right the first time,  or else.

In case anyone is interested,  I'll post a link to the discord group I fly with.   Every Friday night is a new bush trip.

We use discord for voice comms,  but it's perfectly fine if you don't have discord (or if you just want to listen).  Either way,  you're more than welcome.

We have people of all ages,  from gamers to CFI's and even a 787 PIC.

The server is hosted by Gunpilot399.  He's a retired Australian bush pilot.   Awesome guy.

This invitation link will expire in 7 days, https://discord.gg/GWmTn3Ac

Every week the flight plan file will be posted ahead of time in that week's discord thread.

We typically download the flight plan ahead of time,  then hop in the discord server,  load the flight plan,  spawn at the airfield around 10 to 15 minutes before departure,  and then immediately queue up on the taxiway to prepare for departure.

Welcome to the 46th Gunpilot’s Challenging Flights adventure flight series. This challenging flights event, located in the Italian Dolomites Mountains, was originally flown seven months ago. It was a much loved flight then, and this Friday you will see that the astounding scenery has lost none of its majestic charm!

In this action packed flight, that is bound to see plenty of hilarious spills and thrills, we take off on a very short airstrip surrounded by vineyards and tour thru the scenic Italian valleys and mountains that make this region of Italy so beautiful. However, your landing skills will be really tested on this flight and you will have to bring your “A” game along to survive this flight without any mishaps. Once airborne you will be tasked with over a dozen challenging landing locations, with only one registered airstrip planned to land on for a 10 minute pitstop roughly half way thru the flight. The outlandings range from medium to very difficult, and again a gliding challenge or 2 have been included, with the normal surprise challenge that you have come to expect being thrown in along the way.

When: Friday August 13 2021 @ 2300 UTC

Where: Italian Dolomites Mountains

Flight Duration: Approx 3hrs (depending on numbers attending)

Aircraft: Cessna Grand Caravan

Server: SOUTH EAST ASIA

Discord Server: https://discord.gg/7he7CQSd4V
Voice Chat will be provided in this server for the flight

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Cessna Caravan as all landing and other challenges built into flight are
tailored for this aircraft specifically

Turn Damage mode off as you will most likely suffer at least hard
landings if not full on crashes

Bring plenty of Duc Tape for running repairs

In case anyone is wondering what they'd be getting themselves into,  the server has 240+ members.   Fridays typically have 25 to 30+ show up.

That shot - nothing to add!

Papua New Guinea is the BOMB! I have done north America and don't care for it much, most strips are at sea level or as low as can be given the terrain (ie mountain base, river). PNG has elevation changes up the wazoo, unpredictable winds-weather, every strip seems to be a completely new and beautiful challenge. And for some strange unknown reason it is extremely well depicted.

I remember I had an addon in FSX and P3D called "Salmon River". It featured some strips in Idaho. I'd like to have it in MSFS. One of the strips here IRL:

I tend to fly mainly on the PNG side of the border but the Indonesian side has some pretty amazing airstrips as well.

One thing to do if your bored is turn off the GPS and randomly fly into a cloud known to contain rocks and trees and see if you can find your way, using visual and maps only, to whatever airstrip that is meant to be on the other side of the hills.
