Does this mean we can has a Space Shuttle, or Virgin Galactic's Spaceship 3? Maybe this is one of the guys I saw above me recently at super-high altitude........

XBOX PLAYER FLIES TO SPACE IN MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Quote

If you thought that Microsoft Flight Simulator was being ambitious, then you might be surprised that it goes beyond just the horizon and into space. Did you know that you could actually go into the Mesosphere in this game? A player by the name of Straight Up P.O.G. made the journey on an Xbox Series X to see just how high up he could go in the game. While this has been done before on PC, this seems to be the first attempt on the Xbox console recorded thus far.

In the video, we can see the fighter jet gain more and more altitude until it breaks past the Troposphere. We can now see the “edge” of the Earth and the darkness of space.

If you’re wondering how to do the same attempt yourself, the Youtuber does have his own tutorial you can find on his channel.

This goes to show the power of the Series X in comparison to its predecessor, which Microsoft Flight Simulator never released on as the requirements for the game may be too heavy for the old gen console.

For those interested, Microsoft Flight Simulator is available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers if you’re interested in heading into space.

Heck of a lot cheaper even given the new Series X pricing .

What's next episode, space station docking in a Cessna 172? Landing on the Moon on a Cub?

You'll need the modified 'cheese skids' to land a Piper Cub on the Moon. However, I did manage to land a Piper Comanche on Mars:

I see. Pretty short runway tho.

And where is the blue square? All runways need a blue square for landing evaluation!

remember Microsoft Space Simulator back in the 90's?  i loved that sim, i hope we get a new version 1 day👍

Well, it does say on the packet that no artificial colours are there, so I guess that is why there isn't one of those. It's possibly worth me patenting the idea of runways having a soft chewy centre though, as this would put a stop to hard landings and tailstrike damage.

This would be cool. I had a lot of fun with it in P3D.

I would not be surprised to see something like this come out from an ambitious freeware developer....

I remember it. Two floppy disks as I recall. I also recalled that the game crashed a lot. 😆

Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

I think The Top Gun DLC is going to have a high altitude aircraft. Not space high, but at least SR-71 high I assume.
