August 16, 20214 yr I am using the tall trees fix/mod available on TO. It seems that a couple of months ago I also saw a fix for unusually tall hangars but I am not finding it now. Does one exist? I have an airport, KBMG, where most of the hangars appear perhaps 50% taller than normal and am looking for a fix. August 16, 20214 yr kind of funny as I am probably being trolled by your post 😄 I don't have a lot of problems with the sim and generally love it. However, this single issue has really gotten under my skin since the beginning as I know the fix is probably very simple because ASOBO has done a very similar fix for a 'apartment' buildings in one region already. Apparently those buildings in that region created an uproar in the community as was fixed with the next patch. But this, bizarre hanger thing that everyone see everywhere... not so much. I posted this on the MSFS site (Hanger Issues) and was actually shocked when after many months it came up on one of the developer podcasts. Their response, "well, its in the code so it would have to be addressed there...'. This basically left us no where and it is well off the radar. I consider it a dead issue. I will track this posting though to see if anything comes up. I believe it did get addressed early last spring with an update as it fixed one really over tall hangar at KBMG. But then that hangar became too short vertically, and their buildings that should be rows of leased single plane hangars at that time became too tall. In true fashion they attempted to fix one issue but created another. Reminds me of the "whack the mole" amusement game that is popular at local and state fairs. LOL! You nail one, another pops up as a result! As you know, most airports are generated by AI, using satellite imagery. To figure out where to place buildings, they only info is an overhead view, no height info. The buildings available to be placed can be scaled to match the footprint shown in the imagery. But the scaling is done in all three axes. So, the same building model may be used for different sized footprints, and when scaled to match the footprint, the height axis is also scaled. If the footprint is large, the height is also large. Two solutions come to mind. One, provide more building models available at different sizes. Two, scale only the horizontal axes (but this might lead to distorted wall textures). Any solution (other than third parties doing a custom airport) will have to come from Asobo. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
August 17, 20214 yr I would like to have any buildings at my home airports, oversized or mini - they are both empty except for fuel station and fuel truck. I suspect the photogrammetry is not very good in my local area and the AI cannot determine to place buildings. I'd like to update the airports myself, but the process seems very cumbersome and no building preview when placing, so I opt to fly other places at the moment. My home airport of KESN suffered the same fate, however there is an excellent addon for KESN available at TO. I have also landed at KCTJ - Carrolton, Ga., just west of Atlanta to find the same issue there. My Dad, his two brothers, and three of my cousins have all graduated from Clemson. August 17, 20214 yr There is a fix but it requires you to edit the airport, which firstly has a bit of a steep learning curve, and secondly is only going to fix the particular airport you edit - not all airports. In the two videos below he details step by step how to edit an airport and change the autogen hangars for something closer to the real ones. Edited August 17, 20214 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

Jim, I was not going to throw you in there. Thank you for responding to him. I am certainly still enjoying the KESN you provided and I will add that SU5 did nothing to harm it! And fellow flyers, Sugarbun's Café in the primary ops facility at the airport is open for business and makes KESN a great $100 hamburger destination.... If the data is wrong in that old OSM data it will also be wrong in the sim. That's how we got the unreasonably tall skyscraper in Melbourne at launch. So it could be a combination of factors causing the hangars to be too tall. Edited August 17, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

He found and is using a couple of hangars with open doors. If I can obtain them would you be willing to pop them into Easton to replace a couple of existing ones? I actually live halfway between KCEU and KTOC (Letourneau Field in Toccoa, GA) - neither of them have buildings, but I like to fly to/from both of them. KCEU is small but quite busy being close to the university especially during football season. I will check out the KESN addon.
