Does this change core files or everything goes into the community folder? Would like to test it but I don't install mods that change core files.

It drops into the community folder.

It will overwrite some lighting related files in mods such as the fbwA320 (non marketplace version),  WT CJ4, and Xcub performance mod.

It mentions that those particular mods must be installed prior to installing his lighting mod.

instalation

drag into your community folder

1- newlight-effect-base (the main folder contains the texture files)

2- newlight-settinglight-"modèle" (lighting position settings for aircraft)

3- model that overwrites their original model files which must be installed before:
flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo (instaled by instaler, not for modèle in marcketplace https://flybywiresim.com/ )
workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 (https://www.workingtitle.aero/packages/cj4/2021/05/25/cj4-release-v0.12.6.html)
XCUB PERFORMANCE+ 215 v1.8.8 (https://www.bushleaguelegends.com/addons/msfs/msfs-mods)

Thanks, looks like it doesn't modify any core files, guess I'll try it later. 👍

Here is a small improvement of the visual aspect on the projections of the lights (taxi and landing)

UPDATE 2.9 !!bug fix!!

CHANGELOG :

- change of folder names for order of priority,

- implementation of different color of taxi and landing light depending on the aircraft model,

- addition of the grumman goose g21a

- addition - z-Newlight-settinglight-A320NX-dev

- remove Newlight-settinglight-A320NX(flybywire-marketplaceMSFS)

remove the old folder and reinstall the addon aircraft before replacing newlight

this mod works with all models using ASOBO lighting systems, some models remain with incorrect settings because I only have the standard version of the simulator

installation

drag into your community folder

1- the main folder contains the texture files (do not use both at the same time, put in your communitty the one you prefer)

- z-newlight-effect-base

OR z-newlight-effect-base-noflare

2- settinglight-"modèle" (lighting position settings for aircraft)

- z-Newlight-settinglight-(standartedition)

- z-Newlight-settinglight-A320NX-dev https://flybywiresim.com

!!Do not hesitate to put your screenshots!!

if you like this mod and want to see it evolve to make it compatible on other aircraft, make a donation. it will help me bought the different models to modify.

thank you.

I use the newlight base without any of the model specific files. It seems to make the lights for the NextGen EMB-110 (which uses the default Asobo lights) a little brighter and I only enable it with that aircraft through Addons Linker.

It mentions that those particular mods must be installed prior to installing his lighting mod,  so the proper files in the community folder are over-written.

This is the dumbest thing ever.. In order to use a mod you must install a mod you may not particularly want so you can use a mod. lolwut?

This comes off as hacky trash..

Sorry about that misinformation.  Totally my fault,  and I didn't catch my mistake until you mentioned it.

This mod does not overwrite any folders or files,  at all.    Every folder in this lighting mod begins with the letter "Z-",  for example "- z-Newlight-settinglight-C208B-mod".

You just unzip the mod,  and drop whatever "Z-Newlight-settinglight-XXXX-mod" for the planes you want into your community folder.    There are no default files changed in any way,   no mod files changed in any way.

When the sim launches it scans your community folder in alphabetical order and builds a database.   Folders named "0" load first,   Folders named "Z" load last.    So,  the sim will load every aircraft or aircraft mod not named "z-" first,  and the lighting mod will load last.

Now I feel bad,  because my words have likely driven people away from using what I think is an excellent mod.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that it was updated again today,

@styckx Just to back up Waldo's clarification, I've been using this mod from the start and haven't had to add or change anything else for it to work.

Waldo, I guess there is none yet for the Citation Longitude & TBM930 yet?  They both have useless taxi/landing lights!
