August 21, 20214 yr Actually it makes me smile quite a lot - I recorded this video of my approach into Sydney on the ILS 25. Wow - I've not flown into YSSY enough that is definitely going to change. Edited August 21, 20214 yr by sidfadc Thomas Derbyshire
August 21, 20214 yr Nice video! I try to divide my time up between flying places I've flown to in real life, and places I've never been (and often likely never will). I've lost count of the times it has made me smile in both those cases. PC: I9-10900K, RXT 3090, 64GB RAM, 3840x1080 49" super-ultrawide

August 22, 20214 yr Yeah, I will never forget the first time I encountered rain in this sim. Sitting in a Grand Caravan at a smallish airport in the north of Norway when I loaded up in the sim I immediately realized I was in heavy rain. The puddles on the ground, and the reflections from the ambient light, the sound of the rain beating the airframe and running down the windows sent me shivers down my spine. When I subsequently started the engine and noticed the droplets being pushed away by the air flow I must have had the most ridiculous smile all over my face. August 22, 20214 yr Author Totally agree and the TBM is such a great plane. It’s fast, can climb high, is great on performance. You can get off the ground from cold and dark in like 10 mins I should fly it more often! Thomas Derbyshire
August 22, 20214 yr Is that the modded version or default? Paul Schmidt We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.
August 22, 20214 yr I had a couple of smiles these recent days glancing at the lovely shallow water transparency along the floats of my docked Cub. August 22, 20214 yr I have these moments too. I primarily fly the working title CJ4 as it to me is one of the most complete airplanes. Breaking out at minimums, or the opposite... coming in for a beautiful visual approach is always satisfying. In fact, I should go fire up the sim now!

Wow - I've not flown into YSSY enough that is definitely going to change. Nice touchdown! If you want to laugh, yesterday I was flying the 172 in my NeoFlight career. So I took all my balance and bought $22,000 in cell phones, intending to carry them along with me as I flew a mission to another village. In that particular destination village I could make a fat profit by selling them at the market. So I land, but not really paying attention to what I'm doing. After I park, I'm checking the market and I can't find the phones in my cargo. /Stupid me. I guess I should have RTFM, because landing at -200 fpm broke every one of them. Total loss. I guess that explains the loud breaking glass sounds when I landed. lol.

I'm not sure how many of us were around FS20 when the Halloween landing challenge dropped, but someone was kind enough to save the weather preset and post it to https://flightsim.to/file/2620/halloween-creepy-weather-preset It's quite nice. Quote Hi little monsters! This is the Halloween Creepy Weather Preset you have discovered in Halloween EVENT in FS2020. Simply Drag and drop the Halloween.WPR in the PRESETS Folder:TO INSTALL(steam): Open the archive, drag and drop the Halloween Creepy Weather preset file intoC:\Users\{yourAccount}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\weather\Presets\ If "C:\" isn't the disk your Windows isn't installed on obviously choose the right disk. Make sure hidden folders are unhidden. If you cannot find the AppData folder, press Windows Button + R (or select Run from start menu) and type in: "%AppData%". You can also put this into the url bar thing of windows explorer.for windows store users: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_\LocalState\Weather\Presets\ You have to put his weather preset in there. If you find a different pathway post it in the comments to help out others and anyone else who wants to share weather... we can only hope MS puts the weather presets in a more sensible location so we can share these things easierDon't forget to change the time in Flight Simulator 2020 and choose the end of the day when the sun goes down or rises to find the same creepy atmosphereThis weather preset also gives you a nice layer of clouds during the day, you can also remove the storm in the weather options.

You're flying along and hear some weird static on the radio, then a thunder clap. Lightning from that thunder clap takes out the electrical buses of your 152. The only thing that does work is the dome light, and it bathes the interior in blood red. The runway lights were carved pumpkins. It was kind of buggy for me, because the blue landing box disappeared as I got closer to it. /also in this video is the red flashlight mod. Edited August 22, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper
