Render scaling needs to go to 100 as a temporary fix from what I've heard.

Yesterday I tried to fix this.

I tried to delete usercfg = nothing

tried  a repair = notta

tried a reset = notta

tried REINSTAL 160 G of data, the whole thing and then some with the updates   NOTHING...TOOK 6 HOURS

I am disgusted

But I did the temp fix of 100 scler and its ok

I LOST ALL COMMUNITY ADDONS plus payware in that folder even though I myself did not delete its proprietary content, though Aboso felt free to

Oh never heard that. I am on a 4K TV and not running at native resolution but a little lower to get it smooth but I am up scaling. I will try to scale to native first and report back.

Just to clarify - the setting to change is in the sim itself.  I think it's called Render Scaling.

Wow, that was an extreme measure. Whenever you have an issue with this sim, best is to check in here at Avsim or at the official forums first as it is very likely not a problem with your setup but with the sim itself. The whole lights floating and lights disappearing thing when using anything other than 100 for Render Scale is a known Asobo/MSFS bug. I’m sure they will fix it soon. Apparently they are aware of it.

Why? Sounds like you saw an issue and just started deleting/repairing files before you knew if it would help.  Had you started with the temp fix that was published here you wouldn't have been deleting/resetting files for 6 hours.  Did you change your community folder location?  I've done a reinstall an my community files were still there.  You are saying MSFS removed the contents of your community folder?  My guess is one of your resets/repairs blew everything away or when you did a full reinstall of your 160gigs you blew it away in the process.

Seems a shame as all you had to do was change the render scaling and there would have been no issues.

Wow!  What a shame!  A massive waste of time with all of that reinstalling.

First thing I always do if I have any problems is: -

1.  Check the Avsim forum (The experts are here ).
Sometimes you have to give it time for the posts to appear with other people having the same problem - or you can start a thread and ask!

2.  Check the MSFS Official Forum. (yes it can be useful, and there is a lot of activity there).

Up to now, I have fixed or confirmed as an Asobo bug, exactly 100% of my issues; most from this forum - it's worth its weight in gold.

And even the unhelpful and argumentative posts tend to be really funny some times.  It saves me a subscription fee to Comedy Central for sure!

How many new threads on this topic do we need? Why can't people just do a google search first. There are more than enough hints out there what causes this and how to fix it.
