Asobo !! Please Let Us Skip "Safe Mod" Click Somehow ?

Featured Replies

I really do not want to click any additional button during the launch of the sim. As before, we skipped intros, videos, music, etc. to shorten the time of launch. Now this "Safe Mod" check is not for me. I know many simmers think like that, as well.

Generally I quit the sim by closing the window which was easy and fast for me. (Never close the sim originally via Main Menu > Quit to Desktop.)  And now, my old way of closing the sim seems to be an error or CTD to the MSFS and shows up the "Safe Mod" warning on every start.

Safe Mod warning is good but somehow, we would like it, to be ignored or it can be shown for a few seconds or so, and continue with Normal Mod, if Safe is not clicked. Or can be an option in the settings that we can enable or disable. I do not know how t can be for the best usage but I would be more than happy if a solution can be found.

What do you think ? Maybe a voting can be launched for this later.  Thanks.

I hear what your saying but it's probably best practice to close it down cleanly, it would help though if there was an option to bypass it

Most annoying to turn on msfs and go off and do something else for the 5 minutes it takes to load and come back and find that it has stopped on the safe mode warning.

I know that my long loading times are due to having quite a lot in my community folder, but I only keep my UK mods there ( my other mods for other countries are stored elsewhere and only used when I am flying in those countries).

Since wu6 I get the do you want to start in safe mode question every time i start irrespective of how i previously quit msfs, it's a minor irritation, i wish there was a fix?

This is strange because the only time I got this option was after having a few ctd, so it's working like it's supposed to

I am getting that everytime I close the sim from the topright corner X.

I hope there will be a workaround.

You need to exit the right way by going to the main menu. Closing the sim with the x might cause corruption of files. Exiting the right way gives the sim an opportunity to clean up what it needs to then exit. Similar to how you shut down your pc instead of just cutting it off

Yep, I suspect it is because some of us have been shutting down the window rather than the program.  I will try to get back into the habit of shutting the sim down properly and see if that fixes the issue.

It was not a problem before and there was no corruption.  Safe Mod can wait few seconds and continue with Normal Mod , if not required.

Well you can either shut down the sim the right way or keep getting that message. No way around it lol

Why do you say there is no way around. No offense but you can close it in the proper way.

I hope there will be a solution, as we had for skipping intros, music , videos, etc, before.

Because there's no way to avoid it unless you close the sim the right way. If you just click the x, the sim is going to think it crashed and since everyone is get ctd, Asobo thought this was a way to troubleshoot.

The sim expects you to use the "Quit to Desktop" action from the Main Menu to close. Closing the sim using the X in window (or Alt-F4) isn't closing it down "the proper way" and it obviously doesn't trigger the SIm to do it's full shutdown procedure so that's why the sim belives it has crashed.

I'm hoping this is a step towards a proper Crash Log that can be used to identify CTDs, something that was needed on day one.
