FBW320 MCDU not working.

Featured Replies

Good afternoon.
I have noticed that the MCDU does not load the flight plan.

Does anyone know the reason?

Are you using Simbrief or MSFS flight planning?

I know Simbrief was having problems a day or so back. Also, if using Simbrief, check your username / login is still retained in the relevant FMC setup page.

Is this the A32NX? If yes, then you have to import from Simbrief first (check the EFB; that's where I always do) and yes, check if username is there.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Also - Simbrief flight plans tend to time-out after a few days (not sure how long). I always re-generate my OFP on Simbrief before doing a new series of flights in the FBW.

Maybe you should start here:

This is the reason why I start the topic:

When i select “INIT DATA REQ” on init/review menu, nothing happened.

The flight plan loads, but the info in mcdu doesn't load, as I'm showing you in the photo at the beginning of the topic.

Have you entered your Simbrief data (ID or Pilot name) in the iPad thingie (on the left) settings?

Speaking of simbrief. I’m able to load flight plans with no issue, but all the info on the tablet never seems to load. It’s weird that it’ll load the flight plan but not the data for the “iPad”.

Any thoughts ?

When you say "I’m able to load flight plans with no issue", where do you mean? In the MSFS planning screen (pre-flight), in the MCDU?

When in the pre-flight MSFS menu, do NOT load a flight plan. Only enter the DEPARTURE airport (and set your gate/runway choice). This has been the procedure for FBW/Simbrief for a fair while. Sorry if you already know this (!).

I'm not sure, but I think FBW switched Simbrief ID entry from the MCDU to the iPad, so you may need to check your settings tab in the iPad to see if your ID is correct.

You need to change the layout of the simbrief generated OFP to something compatible.

I personally use EZY. Non compatible OFP's will not load into the flypad

So the same flightplan I'm loading into the FMC is not the correct format for the flypad ?

What is EZY?

Thanks so much!
