Hi Chris, for the sake of MSFS you could lock to 60hz in my opinion.  As for Freesync the issue is where it kicks in on that monitor.  "If" it is 48-100 for example you "may" want to consider 60hz monitor and 30 in MSFS which would give you half refresh and a smooth 30 FPS.  We'd need to know the rest of your system specs and some personal preferences to dial it in but that should be a start.

He could keep his 100Hz and in sim set to 20=33 FPS.

True!  I forget about the 20 in sim which would be 33 and probably pretty darn smooth.  The only issue he may encounter is Freesync flicker in which case backing it down to 60/30 would solve that.  Great call though.  I may even try 120/20 myself

Ok thanks, I am running an older 1080TI, I have vsync on and 60. I If I go to 30 it gets choppy. Also do I have run inspector and force gsync/freesync on?

It has to be enabled on the monitor and in the driver correct.   You can also try 100 on the monitor and 20 in the sim as suggested above...  Personally I run 60/60 G-Sync on V-Sync on but that is just me.

Hi,

I have an Alienware Dell Monitor AW2721D 240Hz. But I keep 144Hz, because that way it runs at 10b (240Hz at 8b).

I also use MSI afterburner to control the FPS (it is impossible to limit the frame rate with NVidia Control Panel!).  I set MSI at 35 FPS

It runs very smoothly!

Regards.

Thanks for all the info, yes I just tried the 100/20 = 33mhz and it worked perfect so far. I have to get Inspector now.

I actually played around in Athens and 120/30 G-Sync/V-Sync on was the winner for me!  Thank you

Great!

My G7 I set to 120Hz and 20, giving me 40, as that with TrackIR is super smooth, TrackIR need more FPS to make all movments smooth. Without TrackIR 30-33 would be fine.

I also fine LOD at 200 is way more smoother than 400( sudden movments, looking around). The new 200 seems fine, a lot better than the pre LOD 200 before the last update.

I think you would fine it a lot smoother still if you ran the in sim V-Sync on and at 30 or 20 and droped you Hz down to 120 or 100. John.

I use a 3440x1440 monitor that have native resolutions of 30,60 and 100hz, but I have create my own resolution at 75hz in NVP and set V-sync to 30 in game, that give my a lock at 37,5 fps, I did that because panning in cockpit was a bit jerky at 30 fps, but much better at 37.5.

I too am reading this with wonder...  I stopped chasing specs two computers ago.  Maybe I need a 4K monitor larger than the 4K 28" I am currently using.
