Did you read the changelog? Because it explains exactly that

Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

No I'm at work.  What does it say?

Tested on my first flight, destination airport METAR is spot on. Too soon to say, but looks good...

How do you see the destination METAR?

  • You can now consult real airport METARs during flight from the Weather panel (only when Live Weather is active)

Apart from that I checked it with the GTN750 Garmin unit.

Oh my word - the haze depiction is superb!  Did a 360 degree turn in Los Angeles and the visibility changes across the view.  Some areas you can see 5 miles but there are patches of thicker haze where visibility is less.  Mountain tops poke out the haze and the bottom of clouds merge into the haze in the distance.

The weather changes I have seen so far are very, very good - a pity they have broken TrackIr!

The clouds are much more varied now between metar areas.  Transitions between the metar areas appear smooth - far far better than I had hoped for.

As reported, haze and fog transition can be more abrupt when the metar changes. Flying West to East north of Los Angeles there was clear air to the north but haze at various thicknesses over Los Angeles and surrounding valleys.  The haze ahead suddenly thickened.

Overall though the weather has improved greatly and I'm very pleased!

Haze over Van Nuys. Mountains in the distance clear.  Clouds are from two separate Metars

To the north no Haze.  More Haze towards Los Angeles to the right.

I chose a raining airport for my first flight.  AMAZING. Under the clouds the fog and mist was 3mn and climbing through the clouds it was clear and blue. Exactly the metar.

In the haze.

Wow. That looks incredible! Are the abrupt transitions only when you're "in" the haze or do you also notice them from above?

wow that looks good. PS you can re-enable trackIR in the camera menu.
