CTD when changing airports / Runway

Hi Team,

Been having an issue with CTD when I switch airports.  It takes me three or four times to get the sim to start working.

I have tried building a new CFG and deleted new sceneries.  I have tried other tips I've seen over the forums but nothing is working.  I figure I would ask in this forum before I completely uninstall sceneries, aircraft, and other tools.

I have the same issue for several month now and was considering a full PC reinstall.

I will wait to see if someone comes with a solution before this extrem option !

Edit : I am stuck at "Loading Terrain Data  - 63%" when trying to change airport after the first load... I tried starting from genuine install of P3D, with no result...

@joeyd40, try disabling all your 3rd party scenery. There may be an issue with one of them.

Does it happen at the scenario menu assuming you have that option selected or only when inside the sim.

But the "Event Viewer" app - Windows Logs and specifically in Applications, does it tell you which module of P3D causes CTD?

Du you use envdir/envshade/envtex.

When i have the problem and get a ctd after changing a airport i have a fix for me.

i make a new inject (gren buttom ) in envdir

this help me to fix this problem

One other suggestion before you start uninstalling a whole lot of stuff:

If you don't have Lorbys Add on Manager I would install it and see if it reports any issues. That may give you a better pointer as to a scenery-related issue or some other add-on package which may not be "registered" correctly.

Hi Team,

Hope all of you are doing well and safe.

Thank you for the replies.

These are all great suggestions and I will try these fixes.  

@ f. Skywalker - I do use envdir/envshade/envtex along with ASCA.  Plus I have ORBX global and buildings.

@ Ray - I start P3D and load the stock F35 at a stock airport.  I click on GO TO AIRPORT and sometimes I see the cursor flashing and sometimes it does not.  When the cursor is flashing I put in an airport but when I got to select a gate or runway it will crash.  However, after about three attempts it works and I can complete a flight.

I'll work on this tonight with everyone's suggestions.  Lorby's Addon Manager seems like a good option as well.

@joeyd40, if it doesn't start correctly with a default aircraft at a default airport with no addon software that would be odd indeed but at least it rules out 3rd party software.

Don't forget @RobPol471's suggestion to post the details of the CTD from Event Viewer.

Just got home from work and ran right to the PC. LOL!!!

I switched to about 7 different airports and could not get it to fail.  

However, I did get an Event Viewer report and here's what it noted.

I think F.Skywalker's advice might help.  I see a lot shader faults.

Thanks for your help.  It seems to be working okay now.  

However, I'm going to redownload the PMDG 737-600 and LKPR has been on my PC for a while.  So. I'm going to update that as well.

The "wireless". Haven't heard that used for yonks.
