Broken? Doesn't seem broken to me? It's rock solid and better looking than ever imo. I've no idea about VR though because I'm an adult. 🤣

VR is also not broken, repeat not broken.

I feel young now, thanks 😛

Haha!

May I play the moderator and remind some guys here, that the topic of this thread is "X-Plane 12 Aircraft Systems Preview" and not (e.g.) sales of XP or MSFS 2020?  I know, these guys wish like hell XP to die, but it won't happen. You can further try to spray bug spray on XP here in the forum, hoping that it will die, but again ... it won't happen. Now even flightsim.to will offer XP content. So, Austin and team seem to have done something right.

As Janov wrote further above - it's not all about making as much money as possible (and what some people still don't want to understand). To tell you an example - some years back, I wrote an email to the Porsche CEO and suggested him, he could make even more money, if he would build VW Golf's. But he remained stubborn and I shook my head. Completely incompetent, that guy. Now, as we all know, Porsche is almost dead 😂 because the CEO didn't follow my advice.

My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...

Common misunderstanding. Noone daring enough to enter the dungeons of the XP forum wants XP to die. Some fear it might, but others are certain the vessel is unsinkable.

I've not read anything from anyone saying they want X-Plane to die? To the contrary I've read  much and I've personally said much in that we want it brought up to date. Yet even whispering it's outdated (or that MSFS is actually quite good) brings down Maxwells silver hammer from the cult members.

EDIT I'm currently en-route to LEBL in the Toliss A321 and yup, it's way out of date both in terms of performance and how it looks. Sorry for any offence caused.

The larger, more performant and better equipped the car, the higher the profit margin as you can advertise and sell it at higher value. So as a Porsche CEO, you'd rather push the sales figures of your rolling junk for humanoid rectums than switch to a mass product with a lower margin.

It doesn't matter at all how often a customer uses a product as long as he buys it.

It matters because everytime they engage with the base product there is a chance they will buy something and people who do not engage with the base product will not buy anything for it.

Think of it like "number of people walking down the high street", only people who walk down the street will buy things from shops on that street.

Face facts. The cockpit of the Toliss is dull and bland because the lighting and shadows are so poor. Sorry but this is 2021. The plane is fantastic with regard to systems but the problem is that I've got to look at it in order to fly it even if I don't look outside. The sim is completely retro.

It's enough when I walk high street once a year for ten minutes, if I buy all the products I want in those ten minutes and shelve them afterwards.

The amount of money high street and it's suppliers make doesn't change from people walking. It changes from people buying.

It's no coincidence that the most important time of the year for high street is was a few days in December.

And how come the Zibo 737 manages to be a shining beacon in terms of look, feel, systems and atmospherics in the exact same engine?

ToLiSS just went for maximum performance and thus cut corners on the detailing. Not to mention that Airbus cockpits in general look much more oderly and sterile than their Boeing counterparts.

No comparison. The Zibo is free and as such is beyond criticism. FlightFactor are lazy overpriced, overrated coders and their planes are shocking in terms of performance for the money. Why? I have no idea. It's not as though there is any excuse, you only have to check out the Toliss and MD80......

exactly.

Not how many people live in the city, but how many are active and when.
