December 21, 20214 yr This is going to depend on your actual controls and their settings... but if you find the rudder and yoke controls to be overly sensitive, you can fine tune them in the flight_model.cfg file for the variant that you are flying. With my CH Yoke, and Saitek pedals, I have toned them down as follows: [FLIGHT_TUNING] cruise_lift_scalar =1 parasite_drag_scalar =1 induced_drag_scalar =1.25 flap_induced_drag_scalar =1.2 elevator_effectiveness =0.3 // 0.4 elevator_maxangle_scalar =0.75 aileron_effectiveness =0.45 // 0.6 rudder_effectiveness =0.15 // 0.3 YMMV 😉 BTW, does anyone know what this line is for... L:SWS_LIGHTING_Switch_Light_#LIGHT_TYPE#_#ID#) Editing error?? Edited December 21, 20214 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
December 21, 20214 yr Author For good measure, I have commented out the "mystery line", found in the flight_model.cfg file, which is actually a snippet of code from the Lighting Template file. // L:SWS_LIGHTING_Switch_Light_#LIGHT_TYPE#_#ID#) Maybe it did no harm, but I do think it is better bypassed. Plane flying better now. Placebo effect? 😉 Edited December 21, 20214 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
December 21, 20214 yr I find everything ok with exception of the rudder. It is crazy sensitive so I need to make this adjustment, although I may try changing the sensitivity on the controller page for the aircraft instead, better than messing around with the CFG. Mark CYYZ
December 21, 20214 yr I'm pretty sure you can change those in the UI. I don't like to mess with the file system anymore. December 22, 20214 yr Right. But many people have different flight peripherals. For instance the travel in my stick might be less than Bert's yoke etc. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

December 22, 20214 yr Why not simply tune the controllers sensitivity in the Controls Options panel which can be done in-game ? December 22, 20214 yr Just now, Bert Pieke said: That changes the controllers for all airplanes... Using the Flight Tuning section for the Kodiak leaves the other airplanes "as is".. Not sure I understand you here. My joystick is tuned to a different sensibility for every aircraft eg for the L- axis X (aileron) the DC-6 is at 0%, the Gina at -63%, the Porter at -50% etc. When I change one, the others stay where they are. It does not, you simply make a profile for each aircraft in MSFS. I gave different profiles for the DC6, the Seminole, and the Mooney. If and when I get the Kodiak, I will make another profile for it. Edited December 22, 20214 yr by Bobsk8
