ORBX Santa Addon (Free)

Featured Replies

I don’t think I’ve seen it posted here, but ORBX has released a fun little Christmas addon for free, a flyable Santa sleigh with 8 reindeer that you can fly anywhere you want.  It also included some Christmas scenery at a few Australian airports.

Maybe not for everyone but my daughter and I had a blast last night flying around our home city with Santa, though I wasn’t able to successfully land on my roof 🙂. Santa must have some pilot magic that I don’t have.

Available free at ORBX Direct.

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

I thought the flight model was unrealistic and the ground handling leaves a lot to be desired. .far too much right rein is required..😇

Finally! Something different to fly other than a single engine prop or military jet. Still not a 'commuter' aircraft though. 😕 I guess it is a least a cargo variant!

Merry Christmas friends.

Rich.

Lol I figured Santa’s sleight would be more of a VTOL aircraft than this, roofs are a small target to hit otherwise 🙂

I always feel sorry for the Australians / New Zealanders not getting any snow at Christmas (summer there I think).

Other than that, I have downloaded this little freebie and will give it a go towards the end of the week.
Just don't give Rudolph too much torque - I have heard he pulls to the left like a wild animal!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

And it puts an entirely new spin on the "blue ice" thing...

Look out below!

That is wonderful! It will be on lots of TVs this week, I'm sure.

Just one more reason that I am thankful for MSFS. This would not be possible in our previous sims.

Lol, they actually eliminated that issue by excluding Rudolph.

Who will be the first to do an around the world flight with Santa?

I was hoping to see engine failures simulated but I guess it might be a bit too graphic for the kids.

Snorted coffee down my nose at this...

Look kids, Santa's Reindeer are dead, the sleigh dropped out of the sky, and the parcels are scattered far and wide and smashed to pieces - Christmas cheer. Wa-hey!

On the bright side there’s eight of them and they’re close to centreline so a loss of one shouldn’t create unmanageable asymmetrical thrust.
