The best money I have ever spent, with Orbx...

Featured Replies

Well, I love(ed)the N/A PNW Region, as that is/WAS my go to and favorite place in all Orbx-dom to fly in and out of.  Especially as I am a Amphibian lover.

I did NOT expect the ultra premium content of the T.E. Washington scenery, over the older PNW,  and frankly as the shaders on the first run were stabilizing to the screen, held my veritable breath, as I HOPED I did not see a toilet flush in FPS, or a CTD because of vRAM levels.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

What I got was a mind blowing...yep...over stated description...but I don't know what else to call it...a mind blowing scene took on shape...with the most fantastic Pender Harbor I have ever seen.  The hills, mountains, trees, the land terrain...was so PREMIUM over the PNW RTM...that I just sat in this scene by the dock for at least 5 minutes panning around.  Folks...I am running at a locked 33 FPS, but the sim is fighting that lock and wants to run at 44-50 FPS!  It jumps there all the time trying to dance over the lock. This T.E. Washington is so optimized over PNW, it simply isn't funny!   Oh..and the vRAM at full sliders right?  Where PNW would settle me into Pender Harbor at 3.2 to 4.5 (depending on A.S. content)  I am sitting at the same part cloudy...and only 2.8 vRAM load in.   Amazing...optimizing!

So, as some don't find my posts anything other than SPAM...some...I won't linger to suggest that with the current 40 percent off, that I most HIGHLY recommend T.E. Washington for all N/A PNW lovers...and perhaps you pick up all the rest of the T.E. series as I did this morning. If the performance, the mind blowing performance on my 12 year old system for T.E. Washington is any indication for me...the other three T.E.'s will be a dream flight treat...all the way up and down the West Coast.

Here is Pender Harbor a 'la T.E. Washington....and the difference in the hills, mountains, trees, A.I. content, ground textures...BLOWS AWAY, blows away, N/A/ PNW... It blows away that product.   I am beyond thrilled I made the jump...

Last two shots as I leave Pender Harbor...

My comment is that my once beloved PNW is a dog show compared to what is rendered at full sliders in T.E. Washington...again...the best money spent on P3D and most likely I'll say the same when I fly in the Oregon and South and Northern California later on today...

Parting shots..:

The Pacific Northwest is home for me (Kitsap County) and as a teenager back in the 1960's I earned my pilots license and home based at three airports, Bremerton National, Port Orchard airport and Tacoma Narrows Airport. For that reason I have Orbx PNW Region & Orbx airports installed for that region. From your quote, it looks like TE Washington scenery will work fine or did you have to uninstall anything that might not have been compatible with TE WA?  BTW, I also earned my Single Engine Sea rating over at Lake Union in Seattle..

Thanks,

Raymie

But seasons? I must have seasons.

I had to uninstall nothing, Raymie. Nothing...and I was coming back with two shots of KORS now surrounded by T.E. Washington...and my gawd...I can truthfully and honestly say...if anyone EVER would want to know what the P3D v5.x Graphics Engine can visually display...it would be P3D v5.3 HF1 LF running in T.E. Washington, with the sim slider fully rendered.  Raymie...I have now a PREMIUM Flight Simulator.  Premium. I am beyond any word to suggest user satisfaction.  Totally beyond that... This (T.E. Washington (latest version as of today's download) scenery is the best Legacy scenery I have ever had the pleasure to own...and to fly over/interact with.  Even the trees at the tops of the mountains are different to another. The detail that this scenery has...had me landing at least 20 times in the Kodiak...to just water taxi back and at sea level, just GAWK at the detail that Orbx has put into this product. My gawd...this product is worth five times the money I spent on it this morning...at least five times, for what Orbx put into it...H.S.!

Here is the best rendering of Orbx's Orcas Island's  KORS that I have ever seen...the hills and mountains surrounding the airport...and the trees!   H.S.!

Raymie, ...just LOOK at those tree covered hills and fauna beyond the Kodiak100....ALL of T.E. so far where I have flown, is as detailed, ,..and dedicated. All of it...wow...various tree species, various growth heights...bushes...ground clutter...WOW!

As Nick (F737NG) and myself have banged on about for a long time......generic landclass scenery can't hold a candle to decent photoscenery. Look how long it took for so many landclass cult members to switch to Microsoft Flight Simulator

Patco...I also insisted (that's why I never bought this product in other prior sales..) that I also needed the changing seasons.  Pat...with all honesty...with the premium detail, the best use of the P3D v5 graphics engine...working with premium scenery, I absolutely DO NOT CARE that I am in perpetual Summer, for honestly...this area...is the time of year, that anybody, as a tourist would flock to....and again...with what get/see picking up this 'only summer' state scenery.  No..problem, Patco...not at all!

It is simply the best 'scenery fodder' for the P3D v5.x graphics engine.  You get this...and you will have an absolute premium visual flight simulator experience.  My gawd...I had to fly over some areas with three or four passes and STILL did not get all the detail that almost in stall, I could view...there is so much detail...that it makes the N/A/ PNW look like a 20 cent piece of scenery software.  No...I'm not exaggerating and I was a PNW 'groupie'.  That product IS now past my elevators...all I see, and want to see, is up ahead, in T.E. Washington...the WHOLE STATE!!!!!!!! 🙂

Chris..I never thought...never thought that a Legacy flight sim...could looks so fabulous now...and I now say I was a unwitting fool not to have bought at least T.E. Washington in the last four or five Orbx sales events.  I see now, Chris..that ignorance was NOT BLISS...I have missed much, but that has been corrected this morning.  What detail...my gawd...even the roads on the mountains are fully formed and not merely brown/grey sprites, (and they can carry vectored traffic) and the All Roads feature really brings out its perk, for now you have traffic traversing the mountains leading into the valleys...  It will take me months to years, to fully appreciate the entire state as T.E. Washington.  I am so beyond satisfied...that even that word is 'lame'...

If you buy, you will NOT be disappointed  I just posted in the Screen Shots Forum, from Orcas (where I was here) to KLCM on the mainland in T.E.  Washing Machine...(lol).   The ground graphics are incredible...football fields to the left of my approach, and the trees on the mountains as I taxi to parking under the Control Tower...all of it...just first class flight simming experience.

Glad you guys are enjoying the TrueEarth sceneries as much as I am.

I give a lot of credit to the team who created this version of P3Dv5 AND the helpful folks with the custom tailored affinity mask for greatly enhancing my own P3Dv5 experience...a year ago I found any scenery in P3D a stuttering, rubber banding nightmare but now it’s my preferred sim it’s so smooth...the only thing I’ve had run as butter smoothly before was Aerofly FS2.

It’s great.

It's been awhile since I have used TE (MSFS convert now) but can't you change your calendar to say October and get Fall color's and likewise for Winter also and snow ? .

There were a couple of T.E.'s that had the option to have the trees change in the Fall, but they warn that they 'might' not look right to  you, with Summer ground textures.  So, Orbx has given you the choice to go Fall colors.  The T.E. Washington does not have that option upon install. I don't really care, as I would only want to interact with the West Coast in the Summer...and would have no interest in the cold of Winter. So...as I fly now gobsmacked with how good Washington looks now...I'd want to have all that lush green tree growth, rather than falling leaves, and trees looking like a B movie graveyard scene, LOL!  I'm good with only one season in Washington.

See, I'm the opposite. The PNW is only fun to fly in when the weather is bad.
