May 6, 200719 yr I have TileProxy working and it's the best thing there is since MSFS in most areas.Just install the program and set up your INI File to look like this and let it load.Remember you must first start the Load Filter and Run proxyUser program first, found in Start Programs TileProxy. Then start FSX. Create a short cut for it on your desktop for easy access. It takes some time to load and when you are flying you will sometimes have to Pause FSX and let the program catch up with your position and this can take several minutes.I am running MSIE 6.0 so I have useragent set at that, set whatever Internet Broser you are using.I would fill in your INI File and not just copy and paste this one to be safe. This is all that needs to be in the INI File, remove everything else, that's what I did and it works fine.Don't forget to replace the ( )with brackets.(TileProxy)lod_distance=1000fast_mode=Nosource=Google Earth(Google Earth)cache_folder=cache.tilesnetwork_module=libnettilemodule_config="server=kh.google.com|path=/kh?t=t%s&n=404&v=17|quad=qrts|balance=0123|useragent=MSIE 6.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)"max_lod=13min_level=9max_level=17color_hack=Nocolor_level=0bulk_extend=25I can't imagine the Google billionaires being upset that a few flight simmers are accessing their website as we all support Google by reading their advertizing adds and using their wonderful website everyday.I huge thanks to them, Google making this available to us for free and to the creator of this fantastic little program, Christian Bucher. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 6, 200719 yr I used your INI....thanks.My problem is FS locks up while trying to load the Terrain Data. The program connects to FS, loads the URL's, I have tiles in the Cache but still FS will not load. It just hangs on Loading Terain Data.I've been thru the posts and have disabled my NOD32, deleted and reinstalled the works but no joy here. Not sure what to try next....Oh well.Greghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
May 6, 200719 yr Are you sure it is hanging. It has taken me up to 40 minutes to load some sceneries. I thought mine was hanging at first too.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 6, 200719 yr hmmm....now you got me thinking Geof.I did open Wimdows Task manager and it showed FSX as NOT RESPONDING so I assumed it was locked up.So it can take that long at the Terrain Loading stage ? Maybe I'll try again and just leave it do it's thing.cheersGreghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
May 7, 200719 yr Give it a try-it is during the terrain data that it is the slowest. Watch the dos box-it should show it loading stuff.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 7, 200719 yr Might be best to run the "cleanup" in /World folder after a flight. As a positive start, look up using your GoogleEarth viewer to find where the strips of high detail are in your area of interest (they do not cover everything...maybe 10 % and the rest is blurred), and situate your a/c there first. Restart FSX after a cleanup done and wait a while, maybe a long time. Go sightseeing....wow yet?Should be surrounded by high detail level 17 textures. If you are flying and encounter an area where 17s should be better focused, use the "reload scenery" found in your /options/controls/assignments and make a shortcut key for that if you have none (??maybe wrong on the path there).allen
May 7, 200719 yr OK it's been 50 minutes and I'm stuck at 22 percent trying to load at CYVR ( Vancouver ) which is covered by high res.tileproxy.sys: FileInternalInformationthat's alll that's showing in the DOS box now...her's my INI....see anything wrong here ?[TileProxy]lod_distance=1000fast_mode=No#source=Service Example 1#source=Service Example 2source=Google Earth[Google Earth]cache_folder=cache.tilesnetwork_module=libnettilemodule_config="server=kh.google.com|path=/kh?t=t%s&n=404&v=17|quad=qrts|balance=0123|useragent=MSIE 6.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)"max_lod=13min_level=9max_level=17color_hack=Nocolor_level=0bulk_extend=25cheersGreghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
May 7, 200719 yr That doesn't sound right-hopefully Christian will have an answer. Try a different geographic location perhaps and see if you get a different result.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Maybe set it going before work, and when you get home everything would be ready to go!Also, if "Top Of Climb" and "Top Of Descent" were in the flightplan then that would help Tileproxy decide which size res tiles to load.TileProxy, Never used it (yet) but I love it already :) Matthew S

May 7, 200719 yr Thank you Geof.Well I've made SOME progress.I can get the sim to load thru the Terrain data part and tileproxy is fetching tiles like crazy!! However at the end of each string it says " failed ! "....fetching LOD10 < blah blah > failed!...fetching LOD11 < blah blah > failed!Alas, when the sim starts there is just blurred tiles and no scenery.I tried KSLC.???Greghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg

May 7, 200719 yr I think this is a fantastic program, and a great idea. However IMHO the beta that is available is far to complex to configure for the average punter and the results are far too varied. As one of the above posters says, 40 minutes to load a flight??? I've had it working in several areas, some times it loads up quickly (10 mins) other times its taken 60 mins plus on my cable connection. Its a fantastic idea, just a bit hit and miss at the moment.Just my 2c,Kael
May 7, 200719 yr Over my 6MBit/s DSL it's usually 5-10 minutes to load an environment I've never been to. Sorry about the hit and miss, but it is really difficult to develop software that is supposed to run on all kinds of machines. That is why a thorough beta testing phase is so important.
