May 11, 200719 yr Geez, Holger, and remove the only sport we can participate in until SP1 is released... You're not playing fair :-)You have to admit, reading that blob of words is hard work...Cheers,Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern AustraliaCheck out my 5th Around the World flight with MS FSX at http://members.iinet.com.au/~portercbp/fly...W_05/index.html Core i7 3820 | Asus P9X79-DELUX SLI M/b | 32GB Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz RAM | DeepCool Gemmaxx CoolernVidia GTX580 1536MB GDDR3 Video | ASUS MW221u 21" WS LCD2 x Kingston V300 240gb SSD RAID for OS and FSX | 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SATA HD's in RAID | 1 x 1Tb ext b/up driveAntec P193 Case | Corsair 1000W PSU | MS Win 7 Professional 64 BitMy website and aviation photo gallery - www.christopherbporter.com
May 11, 200719 yr ok sorry guys I DID have a message in there somewhere.I didnt know i needed to write 5 word sentences and space them out like all of you.i was putting out my opinion typing fast and sloppy.NO im not your bashful friends that are the message thread trolls.trace my ip it is out of washington state HOME of Microsoft.. Ive been reading these forum threads for about 3 years, finally decided to make a account.I decided to post my opinions about this so called FSX SP1 that could have been released months ago if MICROSOFT as a whole cared about there customer base.I don't know why im addicted to FSX (always wanted to fly real planes). After all the prior flight simulator versions FSX comes close to the real thing. One thing in real life if your driving, walking, flying, sitting, standing. The eye does not have a glitch in it unless your disabled where everything lags, skips, or textures become blurry in your visual awareness then reload slowly. Even Phil and microsoft could have prevented shipping a product that was not optimized before finalization and selling it worldwide.how many people are 100% happy with FSX and microsoft vista? im 100% happy with Windows XP SP2 Professional. its tweaked, well optimized and does everything you need to do and quick on a new system. Vista does not do that neither does FSX. A lot of users are sticking with FS9 becuase of the support and it runs well on new systems..anyhow you guys are ruthless none the less around here and not very friendly, you can kiss "aces" butt all you want, its not going to change microsoft or a release date on a product.ALSO if the message forums provided a spell check in a matter of seconds any user could spell proof there stuff they write and you guys could read it.I am sorry once again for straining the users eyes for voicing(typing)my opinion...FYI - I will not post ever again on here...
May 11, 200719 yr This patch will be very interesting ;) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
May 11, 200719 yr No, we are waiting until the bits are out to publish that level of information. ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.
May 11, 200719 yr oops, I just blew away that theory :-). ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.
May 11, 200719 yr I'm not afraid to say I am new to all this regarding patches and SPs, but from experience what will this SP1 do? Is it mostly performance improvement, increasing fps, improving graphics??
May 11, 200719 yr Phil, thanks to you and the team for all the hard work on SP1, and the updates and info you've been providing. Looking forward to next week! Ken
May 11, 200719 yr Here's a dumb question (as usual): this is good news for us FSX users who know where to look on the internet to stay abreast of developments and such, but is there a way to let Joe Public non-forum-member-anywhere be notified of this patch availability? For instance, would it be flagged as an available update for an installed component (FSX) in the Windows Live Update tool?Just thinking of Little Johnny who got his FSX for Christmas or whatever and who may have been initially discouraged and won't kow about all this.....Joe Public, Little Johnny, and Jane Doe New Simmer likely represent a much larger number of purchasers than forum folk and it's a shame to think of those copies of FSX staying on their shelf and not seeing the fruits of ACES' continued labor...

May 11, 200719 yr Promoting sp1 on fsinsider may not be the best option as I hardly view it using internet explorer let alone whilst on fsx. Maybe a notice via windows update? It would probaly be very hard to inform every owner of fsx in my opinion.
May 11, 200719 yr Right. I was thinking of folks who bought but currently may not be even launching FSX due to unrealized expectations. Those would be prime candidates for notification of a performance patch, and they wouldn't be launching the tool that would provide a path to that notification (FSX) or realize they should regularly visit the FSInsider website from inside FSX. Just wonderin' if an additional notification process was being conisdered to help 'rescue' those folks back into the fold....since there's more than one way for Microsoft to announce updates.

I presume that will happen.
May 11, 200719 yr Yeah and it won't flood the forum, or make the front page at Avsim :)Somehow I think word will make it out...I'm just happy to be receiving an SP1 at all as FS is not known for many updates. So we'll see it soon. Maybe final QA is ready today, maybe not.Tim
May 11, 200719 yr What about the "Amazon dot com crowd" where a LOT of reviews (good and bad) are written? A lot of Joe Public gamers make dscisions based on these reviews. You need to tap into this crowd who aren't as up to date on events on as the more informed/discerning people are on here.(although having thought about this, maybe the world is a smaller place these days) Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
