Better machines should see more, maybe up>to 40% in some cases - but overall we are being conservative>still with our estimates. ***>>so the higher end the PC the HIGHER the increase in %>frame-rates - WOOT !>>Mark. He did mention in a previous post, that if you were one of the lucky ones, to be getting good frame rates already, (Which I am - mid 20s-50 everywhere except areas like New York) you would see a more modest increase, as he put it, being able to move the sliders 1 tick. Which is still good, but to run in NY fluidly with high traffic and weather, we really need to get it at minimum 18 FPS, and preferably higher. Right now in New York with extremely dense scenery, dense autogen, and 100% airline traffic, I get 13-16FPS. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 13, 200719 yr Tom - spotted your sig - you could get even better frames if you clocked than 6700 ?My 6600 is a "bad" week for overclocking - but still mangages fine 3.3 gig (stock is 2.4 gig) and run it at low temps at 3.1 gig 24/7 every day.Just would have thought that a 40% in CPU speed - could give you better frame rates in FSX ?Mark.

May 13, 200719 yr Well... I was actually threatening to install it on Phil's machines, but if you insist... :)
May 13, 200719 yr Actually, while I'm here. I do have a question for Phil.I reinstalled FSX two months ago, and had many issues trying to install it. (Activating was fine, but actually installing it gave many errors.)Is SP1 going to offer any additional tools to solve these issues? For example, separate from the installer, will there be a new tool to completely remove all traces of FSX or whatever was causing the reinstall issues? (I know that there was a tool available somewhere, but did not work for me... so maybe an updated tool of sorts.)I actually purchased a new DVD for my system because I thought the error was being caused by a damaged/older unit that I was using. Wasn't the case though, as the errors continued with the brand new drive.

May 13, 200719 yr Your LAN will be fine. Your LAN most probably has a lot more bandwidth than its connection to the internet has :)
May 14, 200719 yr Phil:Real life is complicated. People who flip burgers for a living might not understand that, but some of us do.Take your time, and do it right. We'll still be here.
May 15, 200719 yr That's quite a kick in the groin sir. My comment, as I said twice already... was in jest. For the record, I'm an IT specialist in charge of a downtown hotel/condo complex (Toronto). Hardly a burger flipper.Kev.
