last world update and taburet meshes

Featured Replies

Anyone have experienced big shutters using meshes from taburet like nepal  or spain after last update?

I always keep myself away from buying this type of add-ons. Looks to me they're not optimized.

I do not have the Taburet meshes, but freeware ones of the Dolomities in the Alps.

I encountered also huge stutters every 30 seconds or so (short freeze and sound interrupt)

I have disabled all addons etc. and nailed it down to these meshes.

I do not use other meshes and have disabled these above and stutters are gone now.
And I was not flying in the Dolomities as I have encountered the stutters, but in upper Austria. Don't know if the mehes have been already been loaded that far away.

I also have terrible stutters after the latest World Update when I flew a couple of times over the Alps. I have some freeware mesh for this region installed and Taburet Italy. Will try to disable it and report back.

edit: I have to confirm that the stutters comes from the addon meshes. I deactivated all of them, and my flight was very smooth again!

I have a few Taburet addons and they all cause stutters. Stopped using them.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

I have  two or three Taburet add-ons, but don't use them anymore. They are a bit over-prized too imo.

World Update 7 broke not only some Taburet Addons but many other free mesh addons.

I wrote to Taburet about this issue and he promptly tested the affected addons and replied that Worl Update 7 has probably decreased the resources affecting the terrain engine either by mistake or intentionally. It could be a bug but it could have been done to balance the simulator resource distribution.
The solution?
If it is a bug it will probably be fixed in the near future by Asobo if it is a definitive redistribution of the resources of the terrain engine Taburet has hypothesized to propose smaller high resolution areas that would work, also because the mesh heighmaps cannot be optimized.

Got an update notification from Simmarket;

TABURET Italy DEM: Version 1.6 - complete rebuild to save system resources and smooth running after msfs world update 7.

Will test this tomorrow.

I tested the new version 1.6 of Italy DEM 10m but the issue has not been completely fixed.

It's an hybrid version, a temporarly and partial workaround, there are still minor stutters and sound freezes in my case

It seems that MS/Asobo have changed something in the background. AFAIK, mesh comes per streaming. If they improved the mesh in general, that would be the best solution, but I'm not sure about this. I have disabled several freeware mesh add-ons where I encounterd stutter and sound issues: Vacouver Island, British Columbia, Italian Alps. ORBX mesh in Himalaya, NZ and Alaska seem to work without major problems.

here is a new video showing performance of updated Taburet mesh:

in this case is the new updated spain 1.2 pack

he is updating all packages; even areas updated by asobo with higher res than 10 m to avoid morphing.
