May 16, 200719 yr Downloaded, defragged before and after, and hey presto, worse performance than before. Very stuttery and unsmooth, even with no autogen or on sparse. Not happy Jan!!!!!!!!!Pentium D945 dual core @3.7ghz7900gs 512mb2gb ramwindows xp sp2.
May 16, 200719 yr I haven't installed SP1 yet, but wondering if the peeps with all the problems followed ACES install directions about uninstalling ALL of the add-ons and changing all tweaks back to ORIGINAL...Guess I'll find out myself tomorrow when I do my install...Cheers
May 16, 200719 yr Maybe both of you could uninstall fsx, delete the fsx folder and re-install fsx, then run the sp1 install. If that is something you would prefer not to do then delete the fsx.cfg after backing it up, but a clean install may be needed.Or, turn down some of the sliders, you could be overloading your systems.Ian.
May 16, 200719 yr I also have to say that I am VERY underwhelmed with this patch. I have most settings down to med-high and med-low. In a mid-sized city with an average airport (traffic turned off) I'm getting anywhere from 10-17 frames. Note that this is a fresh install of FSX as of today on a fresh OS with nothing else on it, the latest drivers from their respective sources, and SP1 applied (with a defrag.)Hardware:Athlon 4600+ (dual core)2G RAM (dual channel)Radeon X1950Pro w/512MB DDR3Vista 32 UltimateI would expect much better performance than this. Back to FS2004 it is and what a shame with all this hardware. I'm going to have to recommend FS2004 for $20 from Wal-Mart before I could recommend FSX to anyone.
May 16, 200719 yr icenine35 i think your problem is Vista, no good reviews as a gaming platform, thats why im sticking with XP on my upgrade. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
May 16, 200719 yr Moderator > It's a nightware... I want so believe I am dreaming yet...You are a nightmare. You could not possibly have tried any of the suggestions that I and others (including a direct reply from Phil who basically repeated what I had already said) have suggested.I can only conclude that if you spent as much effort trying what has been suggested and less time squalling like a four year old girl you'd have your monster system running like a scalled cat by now. May 16, 200719 yr Well this was certainly a curious thing that popped up in my frame rate information. My understanding is that thats low, average, high. I'm glad I'm not getting the low and why can't I get that high all the time!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171691.gif
May 16, 200719 yr I notice an improvment however I was getting ok FPS before the patch. I have most of my display settings around 80% and I have my FPS locked at 35 and my system holds 35. When I set it to unlimited I get 50 to 60FPS. However if I turn on light Bloom my frames drop into the 20's so I have it disabled!
May 16, 200719 yr Im not the only one Mr. Bill, as you can see... I have read now it's would be Windows VistaDo you mean I need to uninstall Windows Vista too? What more?Do I have the only Vista license of the world with FSX installed?
May 16, 200719 yr I blogged about this months ago to try to get ahead of this one.If a piece of 3rd party content is built with VS 2005 that has the VS 2005 SP1 installed, its possible that 3rd party content now has a dependency on the VS 2005 SP1 redist. If they dont include that redist in their install, the 3rd party content will just fail silently since it cannot find dlls it needs at load time.If and only if you run into something like that, look for the download we published.got it? ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.
