I agree with you, Lefteris. That's a very good idea. ;-)This is a really simple thing to do that doesn't affect code in any significant way, and makes life easier for both the addon developer and the end-user.There's more that Microsoft can do to spread this message, but the community, both addon developers and end-users, can also play a big role in getting this message out.-Dave

In the game UI or in fsx.cfg?Do VIRTUAL_COCKPIT_TEXTURE_SCALE and pixel_size 1024s (in the panel) tweaks still work in FSX?Thanks.

Hello everyone, Well all I can say is WOW!! I'm running a single core CPU (see Signature) and with SP1 installed on a fresh copy of FSX no tweaks or addons, I'm getting double the frame rates I was with the tweaks installed. Everything is so smooth now, more than before. Most of my sliders are mid way 20% Traffic, Autogen to normal, Water Low 2x, Mesh resolution 38m, 10% car traffic etc.Thank you Phil Taylor and all the ACES team for making this service pack. It was flyable before, but now it is awesome. Can't wait to get a dual core setup w/A 8800GTX etc. Should really be great then and I possibly can move up the sliders a bit more. Thanks again,

As a Single-Core-User I completely agree. While performing my reference flight (departure from Anspach/taunus, flying over the city of Frankfurt, landing at Frankurt/Main with the Maule) I noticed my framerate always remained at the locked 20. Before SP1 I only got about 9-12 with mid-settings and a rather mediocre system (3ghz, 1gb RAM, Nvida 6600)Man, I am looking forward to ruin that number with a lot of great addons! :DRegardsJonas

Hi Bill,Not according to Phil. He said that SLI support is independent of anything in FSX, and that support of SLI is transparent and handled by the OS/drivers. But why do you guys continue to speak to him? It is not your responsibility to get his machine running better. You did your best, now let's stop clogging the server with silly posts. It takes two to tango.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

I posted a more thorough reply in the SP1 Feedback Thread thread..Getting 50 - 100% improvement on my Athlon64 3500+ single core system with the X800XT 256MB cardShame on Aces (or rather, its publisher) for rushing FSX to the market when it was clearly not finished. An SP that doubles performance clearly indicates that the RTM version was extremely poorly optimized.

Thanks Aces! Great job, huge performance boost with SP1, you can be proud of your work. Also thanks for the more transparent approach and permanent communication with the community.

Yes thank you Phil and team, I can definitely fly jets in and out of bigger cities now. The only thing I can say is that the biggest frame rate killer for me are custom buildings. I wonder why the custom building do that? One thing might be my video card which is an Nvidia 7600GT, I will get a new one once the DX10 update is complete. For example my hometown Las Vegas, whenever I pan towards the strip my frames go down hard, but other cities like Minneapolis and Portland aren't so bad, infact I can maintain about 23 fps there, but back in Las Vegas, it goes down to about 17, and that is with scenery at dense. Thanks again,Jeff

Tomy,Try downloading and running 3DMark06:http://www.futuremark.com/download/3dmark06/After you get the results, it will show you how your system compares to similar systems. If your score comes back with an average score for systems similar to yours, you can be more confident that there is not a problem with any of your hardware or drivers. This helped me a few months ago when I got my new video card to discover that the PCI express port it was plugged into was not communicating at the correct speed (it was at 2x instead of 16x).

Try 100% Airline traffic and 100% airport ground traffics flying around KJFK, and tell us what fps you are getting. I am getting about 14 fps on my C2D.
