June 3, 200719 yr Hi Folks>Now to AI aircraft - it is said there is a 'fix' in SP1 which>puts back the feature from FS9 to have a night-light file>(*_l.bmp) in the main texture folder rather than one in each>of the aircrafts folders yet when I do this I get no>tail/window lights on my AI aircraft but, when I go back to>one file in each folder they light up like Christmas trees?!!!>Anyone have the same problem or does the 'new' feature work>for you?Peter -Don't know if you've already got this working,FS needs to know where to look/fallback for the common textures. You need to place a texture.cfg file containing the relevant path infointo each of the a/c repaint's texture folders. The location of the common light maps doesn't need to be "Microsoft Flight Simulator XTexture",and could be placed anywhere,as long as the correct path info is supplied.HTHATBPaulhttp://www.basys.f9.co.uk/resources/images..._sig_500x94.jpg ODG Preview
June 3, 200719 yr Many thanks for your response Paul - much appreciated.I have had a few 'system gremlins' to sort out this past week and am just about to embark on your suggestion now as, after some testing recently, I did find the 'texture.cfg' route to be the one to solve the puzzle! I have also 'tuned' my FSX/SP1 to the best I can get to overcome blurries/stutters and am a happy camper again; thanks ACES!!btw, I am using 'FileBoss' to place the relevant file in each folder in which I am including a relative path (mine is L:/FSX/AiTexture) rather than a generic one (e.g. ../../texture etc). I am also told that in this folder I can put 'standard textures used by ai a/c (i.e. prop.bmp etc.)!Many thanks again for your input on this!Ciao for now, Peter.
June 3, 200719 yr Hi FolksPeter -Glad to hear you've got it working. The method Frank's suggested is not the most effective,in terms of creation & maintenance, please see my post at PAI, in the "Fsx Sp1 - Ai Night-lighting" thread -http://www.projectai.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54290HTHATBPaulhttp://www.basys.f9.co.uk/resources/images..._sig_500x94.jpg ODG Preview
June 19, 200718 yr After I installed SP1, I was asked to reactivate FSX which I did successfully. About a week later, I went to use the program and a box came up and said that I needed to reactivate FSX. So I did it again which was successful. While I was flying a sim, the program stopped after about 15 minutes and said "thank you for the trial use" and closed down the sim. Then it said to reactivate again. This was right after a successful activation about 15 minutes before. Does anyone know why this is happening? Why do I have reactivate this every 15 minutes? Thanks for any help.
