FS-ATC Chatter adds real immersion

I don't fly with any offline ATC addons, but can I still use FS-ATC Chatter to make the sim more immersive when tuning into different frequencies and make the sim more alive?

That is the main purpose of ATC chatter, adding immersion. For me the only immersion killer is that being at Greece i hear Dutch controllers, but nothing is perfect.

Sorry but i don't get it. Its the same as the Radiofunction in Euro Truck Sim or Farming Sim...i just let Spotify run in the backgrund if i like to listen to music or use liveatc.net for real time ATC Chatter.

No need to buy/install something additional.

I don't get this either. Leaving aside the glaring disconnect between atc chatter and the default atc in MSFS (if that is what you are using).

I'm hoping for someone to make "Chaseplane for ATC"

The likelihood of that ever happening is lower than the likelihood of me having back to back dates with Kloe and Kim Kardashian

I also don't get why you wouldn't just use Liveatc.net

Take a few minutes to read the thread and maybe you'll get it.

I just went to liveatc.net to monitor KTPA. I did not a get any atc chatter.

From my experience, most of the time either it did not work or it stopped after a few minutes of transmission. If you just take a few minutes to read the thread, you would not be wondering why.

For anyone else with an attitude problem, stick to LiveATC.net if that's what you prefer.

MSFS

FS-ATC chatter is great.

You can hear copious amounts of radio traffic that is region specific.
It's not limited by whichever LiveATC feeds are up or not.
It's not limited by what time of day it is in the region you are flying.
The USA region even allows for ATC audio that differs between commercial airliner and GA flying.
You can add custom audio files for, e.g. UK and German ATC (which are unavailable as live feeds), to increase the realism.

While it might not be as super-duper realistic as hearing your own chosen callsign live on LiveATC.net being cleared for take-off, it is an excellent alternative to hear real-world ATC.

For me, the ability to add custom audio files, the ability to change ATC controller type with a simple change of the in-sim aircraft radio, and to hear copious amounts of radio traffic when usually flight simming late in the evening (when most real-world traffic has significantly reduced for the day), makes this add-on a must-have for me.

I thought I explained that pretty clearly in my posts.

Sorry. Did that an still don't see what that program does provide that liveatc can't. I never had any issue with liveatc but that might be dependant of where you use it.

No need to offend me because i did tell my opinion right?

OK, you use Live ATC.  You have to tune the Live ATC channel to clearance delivery, prior to ground. Then once you are talking to ground, you have to go back to the LATC menu to find a ground frequency where you are  and select that.  Once you get to the runway, you have to go to Live ATC and tune the Tower Frequency.  After taking off, you have to find a departure frequency and tune to that. Next comes Center ( you have to figure out which Center you would be using, then Approach, then Tower, Then Ground.  o do all this in a realistic manner, you probably would need someone just to run the radios for you.

ATC Chatter does all this automatically with at most, the click of a button.

Here is just a sample page from Atlanta Airport and the available channels. https://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=KATL

No i dont have to. Simply because i have no interest in that kind of immersion. I tune in some european sector and let it run in the background while in cruise. Thats all i need from time to time. No idea whats so problematic with that.

P.S: Even if i did it the way you are assuming, it would just be a matter of Alt+Tab to switch to LATC and select a different frequency.

Ok , so you don't want to to be anything like real ATC chatter,  now I understand. Then Live ATC would be fine for you, you can listen to totally irrelevant chatter to your stage of flight.

That is exactly what i am using it for. It is just like music in an elevator. Dont know what that has to do with an attitude issue like someone earlier tried to tell me.

I sometimes even watch the Simpsons or other great stuff on TV. Scandalous! I'm not one of those diehard simmers. If i need immersion i go to the airport, hop on a plane an take it for a ride. Everything MSFS related is just casual simming for me.

Well, you started off posting on this thread that you couldn't understand why anyone would use FS ATC chatter. Now you see that some of us  just have different requirements than you do.
