Featured Replies

Hi guys, any idea on how to remove this grey pixels from the clouds? spacer.png

Maybe that's the right one for you:

PC: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master, DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2X32 GB, Corsair HX 1000, Fractal Torrent, Samsung LC32 / G7 1440P.

Rex gets part of the way there, but the only way to remove these pixels is to fly a different simulator.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Edting the UserCfg.opt (sharpening, film grain=0) doesn't help here. I'm on the SU8 Beta and didn't had the effect yesterday but today I'm getting these grainy pixels too. Maybe Asobo changed something serverside that effects the Beta users or even everybody with SU7, who knows.

Intel Core i7-11700F, mainboard MSI MPG B560I GAMING EDGE WIFI (MS-7D19), 32 GB DDR4 SDRAM, RTX3070, no OC for CPU, RAM or GPU, XMP off. MS Store version, default installation path on a 1 TB NVMe 4x 8 GT/s

No grain at all for me, currently flying north coast of Cuba in 2000 ft.

Ask Asobo to roll back the clouds graphical quality to pre-SU5.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

This is a known problem. After x box version release grainy and pixelated clouds have been emerged. Unfortunately no real solution for now.

Surely everybody gets a grainy, pixelated look on certain clouds?

Non for me since beta.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Yes, I had those grainy clouds every now and then, but can't really remember when the last time was.

So this is fixed in SU8 which is releasing officially tomorrow? If so, that will be fantastic news. I am not confident though… I am planning to experiment with the “user cfg.Opt sharpening fix if it does not fix it.

I can only report what i have seen, since joining the beta i have i have not seen the grainng as you describe.

I see this on my rig, also.  My guess is it helps with frame rate somehow.

In the latest update to the beta the clouds have improved, no doubt, but ash clouds and pixilation do still appear.  I believe the version of SU8 I have now is the release candidate.  I personally don't believe anybody who says they are completely gone.
