Auto FPS or something similar?

For those of you that just can't take it anymore or are worried about them having us over a barrel, I saw that xplane is getting (or already has) photogrammetry. Maybe a little relief to know there could be an alternative if things get worse. LouP

Just re-installed windows and msfs2020 on a new PC, threw out my rtx4090, bought a new monitor, drank a case of beer. Have I over-reacted?! LouP

Don't fall into this bottleneck cr&*. We are not trying to race our systems for the best numbers out there but simply want a better running sim. There's always a "bottleneck" somewhere! I had the exact same CPU as you and went from a gtx1080 to a rtx2080ti and finally to a rtx4080 super and each jump I saw a smoother running sim. I'm sure I was "bottlenecked" but who gives a rats a#$. The simulator ran better with each jump which is all I cared about. I finally just broke down and got myself a Ryzen 7800 x3d. Main reason being that I just dropped a boatload on a Pimax Crystal light and wanted the CPU boost for that. The 8700K is one hell of a chip and was running fine right up to the point I upgraded. I think the next GPU jump would have done her in and to be honest, I did not see the same jump in performance going to the new CPU that I saw when I went to the 4080. Lastly, consider how close we are to the next generation of video cards (not saying don't do it). LouP

Including terrain masks? Because the information in the install dowload specifically says that the terrain masks are incompatible with DX12. LouP

Just read that the Bijan textures are not compatible with DX12. Anyone know of an update coming? LouP

I have my ship traffic up to 100% and it doesn't seem overkill at all. LouP

Hi Damien, Thanks for getting back to me. I was finally able to get to my page at Sim Market and I could not believe the download link was still active so I downloaded another copy of AS 6.5 that I had purchased. I was also surprised as I did not see any keys associated with my install and it looks like it just installs without any security codes. However, I stopped the install process because at one point I started getting all these warnings about AS messing up FSX if you try and use it there. While I only intend to use this for FS9, my FSX install is on the same machine (different drive though) and I became worried that it would somehow mess that up. This is a Win 7 64 machine and my FSX in on my I: drive and FS9 is on my L: drive. Are the warnings making me worry for no reason? I would hate to mess up my FSX install but I would love to get AS working for FS9 again. Let me know if you need or want me to send you a copy of my invoice from Sim Market or anything. Hi, I purchased Active Sky 6.5 a while ago from Sim Market (ORDER Number: [Removed for privacy]). I finally got fs2004 up and running on my windows 7 64 machine and I can not seem to run Active Sky as it says it is unregistered (of course, it's a new PC). My e-mail from Sim Market from when I purchased the product has a link to a page that is supposed to have all my details but I can't seem to access that page. So I guess I have two questions, First, does AS 6.5 even work with W7 and if not, is there a free upgrade to a version that will. I am not looking to use this with my FSX install, just FS2004 as I always did previously. Thank you,LouP

I think a lot of developers do things like this to help with frame rates. Load up your Real Air Duke and move forward to see the front cowling from the inside, you may be shocked what is not there. I am OK with this as it does serve a purpose and don't see the missing parts during normal flying. Oh and another example, try "leaning back" through the bulkhead on your PMDG J41 and "see" the wings that are not there ;). Again, the more complex the aircraft, the more creative the devs have to be so we get good fps.Happy Flying,LouP

Well I can't use both the RXP530 and the RXP430 at the same time. After I run the Carenado configurator for both, the 530 screen just stays black. When you look at a sharp angle, it looks like the 530 is running but it is covered with a black screen. I have the unlimited pack and I did run the RXP configurator, but when I was having the issues, I removed all of the RXP items from the panel folder and re-configurd using the Carenado tool but still no go.LouP

Are you using the SPAD drivers? If not, try them and see if the issue continues. Make sure you uninstall those Saitek drivers before installing the SPAD drivers. I have no such issues with my panel.LouP

I'll be watching this thread. I put the 430 in but it is distrted on the right side. The top radois can be removed and it would probably hold the 430 nicely but then what to do with the FS9 GPS?LouP

With you there, Don. I just started using FSX not too long ago and was reluctant to move on from FS9. But finally decided to when I got my new PC and saw nothing new coming down the road anytime soon LOL. However, I think having Flight + FSX on my machine won't be as dramatic as tryng to have FSX and FS9 on the machine. A lot of stuff I was using in FS9 went south with the 64 bit OS would not have worked anyway.LouP

Just thought I would follow-up as I've been using the BIP for a few days and it works great, no conflicts with Track IR here. :)LouP

Hey Tolip,How are you doing this. everytime I drag an undocked window to my 7" USB monitor, the item I drag over stops working. It seems that FSX just does not want to play with USB monitors.LouP
